Nguel du Saloum - Chez Abdou et Mar ligger i Mar Lodj og tilbyder indkvartering med opholdsområde. Denne feriebolig har balkon med udsigt til den rolige gade. Mar and her husband Abdou are great hosts who really make you feel welcome from the heart! We stayed for a whole week with them and felt like being at home :) They provide you with all the info you need and organize a smooth transport from Dakar to their place for the guests (if needed) at a fair price. Mar Lodj is a great chance to experience real Senegalese country side life and the Sahel. It is an island in the river delta and the four villages on the island are well worth visiting. Many excursions and activities are possible and all can be organized by Mar and her family and nice bathing spots on the river-delta (good for swimming in clean water!) can be reached in only a few minutes. The accomodation provides full board if you like and always has cool drinks at hand which is great in the often hot climate in the afternoon. Nguel du Saloum is built with in traditional courtyard style with has a cozy feeling - so lying in one of the hammocks or on a sofa in the open air living room in the shade is just great any time! Solar panels insure constant power supply and we highly respect the effort Mar and Abdou went/go through in order to supply such a nice accomodation in a place where supply of goods and infrastructure can be really limited at times! (transport on the island is by horse-carriage (great!) as there are no roads (wonderful, no car horns, no traffic fumes and jams!) - just to give you an idea ) Thanks again for everything, Mar and Abdou and we hope that many more people find their way to your wonderful place! It is really worth visiting and we truly hope to come back again to see you again at Nguel du Saloum in the future (with "el musculator" of course :)!

Bed and Breakfast Keur Niaye ligger i Toubakouta og har restaurant. Der er gratis WiFi. Samtlige værelser har aircondition og terrasse. Der er desuden eget badeværelse med badekar eller bruser. Céline's place is excellent - located in the fairly large village of Toubakouta, close to the border with the Gambia, and sitting right on the Sine Saloum Delta. The rooms are large and comfortable, equipped with Mosquito nets, showers and plenty of storage space. The atmosphere around the lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with communal spaces for sitting and chatting, playing games (also provided) and taking meals together. The food is also very good, with fresh bread from the local bakery, homemade jams, juices and yogurt and even some Korean options. There are numerous activities to take part in, easy to choose from from a 'a la carte' book (in Both English and French). This includes things like boats or kayaks in the Delta, guided tours of the region on foot or bike, as well as more surprising options like Tai Chi, African Drumming or lessons on cookery. We took part in a day-long trip with local guide Doudou (who is also excellent) on the water to some of the island and villages in the Delta, and it was fantastic as we got to lunch together with some local people in the Senegalese style. If you're not sure what you would like to do, there's Céline can also help guide you and many of the choices can be arranged at fairly short notice, meaning it's perfectly possible to show up with no plans and just take it from there. Finally, its also worth mentioning that Céline and her husband Gilles who run the Keur Niaye, are also well-known and clearly well respected within the community. They, and their staff, support a number of good causes across Toubakouta and the surrounding area.

B & B Mariamacounda ligger omkring 23 km fra naturreservatet Fathala og har pooludsigt, have og bar. Ferieboligen har aircondition og ligger 49 km fra nationalparken Niumi. We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!

The breakfast was amazing. Everyone was so kind. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. I highly recommend staying here!!

Campement Hakuna Lodge ligger i Mar Lodj og tilbyder 3-stjernet indkvartering med udendørs badekar. Wonderful food. Kind staff. Beautifully calm. So much exciting nature. Super clean - everywhere, was spotless. Couldn't do more to help and ensure you were having an amazing time. Felt totally looked after. Communication to arrive safely was so helpful. The free use of paddle/canoe/bicycles is so generous.

The peaceful sound of nature that whispers into your ears in the morning reassuring your mind and soul of a brand new day full of life, hope and peace. The pelican filled island of Sanghomar and the mangroves of Javier. The nice ice cold drinking water at one of the stores in this village, not to mention the two 'made to be' cold codys beer I never expected but had in the island. The warm reception at a rest hole by an artistic local soul. The dive in the Atlantic from this island. A 13,000 cfa per kg of fresh sea lobsters for dinner. Plus a 1000 cfa large squid, it was the best deal.

A simple, but enjoyable house with a lot of charm. The house was clean and safe and the kitchen is well-equipped. Enough space for a group of for friends. The location at the beach is superb and you can wonderfully relax on the sunbeds and watch the sunset. The staff took good care of us. Recommended!
