The Loft by the Lake ตั้งอยู่ห่างจาก Galgamuwa Railway Station 17 กม. Loft by the Lake offered the most peaceful time in rural Sri Lanka, surrounded by beautiful tanks and paddy fields. Situated in an idyllic spot by the Ehetuwewa tank, the Loft was cosy and comfortable with great views of the surrounding area. The caretakers, Mahinda and Sunitha looked after all our needs with a smile. They made sure that we had delicious Sri Lankan meals and also accompanied us to a quiet spot to watch the sunset and to find the best bathing spots. Because there was no light pollution, the night skies were beautiful! And the dawn chorus offered us the most unusual bird calls! Bird life was in abundance and a family of Grey Hornbills (alu kadatta) flying right in front of our eyes was a fascinating experience :) We will be back soon to explore more!

This is an absolute gem in the jungle, the place is so beautifully designed and we were taken care of so well. The owner is great, he is like your favorite biology teacher showing all that nature in the area has to offer. All employees are so kind and the food they offered was delicious and creative. Because the pool is filled with water from the river, it has cool water temperature which was so enjoyable in the jungle heat. Highly recommended!
