PS Federal Retreat Paddle Steamer Goolwa, hotel in Milang

Located in Goolwa, PS Federal Retreat Paddle Steamer Goolwa offers accommodations with a flat-screen TV.

It was so quiet, neat and tidy and the bedding was comfortable. Kitchen was very clean and cupboards extremely neat. Breakfast provided was good, although could have been a bit more generous with eggs provided. Beds were comfortable and the bedding etc was clean. Pillows were great too! It was fabulous to be made aware of the electricity restrictions prior to arrival. Instructions re use of heating and oven were clear. Beth was great at responding to messages and queries before our stay also. How beautiful to wake up to bird life. Gorgeous environment.

The location was excellent, a nice and quiet setting with a great view out to the vineyard from the back deck. The bedroom, bathroom and sitting/kitchen area was very spacious and had all the cooking utensils you needed. Only a short drive into Goolwa. The bottle of wine/bubbles on arrival was a nice touch, would highly recommend staying here.

Quite place to absorb nature and enjoy walks, fishing and sailing in Lake Alexandrina. Great local historical pub, lot of Milang port history. Close to near by Strathalbyn, Clayton Bay and Goolwa. Best place to stay to explore Langhorne Creek Wineries.

Nice Town. Minimart, Cafe, Bistro, Pub, Art Gallery, Bakery. Rail Museum etc. A little hamlet with a lot of charm and a large lake that changes colour several times a day. Lovely place as was the motel.

A small town on the edge of Lake Alexandrina and a pleasant parkland waterfront, narrow sandy beachest and a small jettry. There is an unassuming but welcoming pub and within an easy drive from both Goolwa and Langhorne Creek.

Great jetty, nice old heritage buildings and easy to find things. Milang is a small town located on the shores of Lake Alexandrina, mostly farming and wineries. I've only been there once in 1991 at age 13 but always wanted to go back. Locals are friendly and wave out of themselves, we felt very at home and could have stayed much longer. Excellent fish and chips at the local take-away made a hearty meal on a cold night. It suits a small, low-key type of getaway if you don't want crowds or yelling kids. Had a romantic feel to the place, just nice and quiet I think. To top it off, it was inexpensive as well. Definitely recommend.

It's a small, sleepy little lakeside town perfect for a quite and relaxed get away. There is an interesting little railway museum, a pub, a bakery, a café and minimart, all within a short walk from the caravan park and motel. What more could anyone ask for? There's also a lake, but I was more interested in the trains. :)
