The Pousada is the best on the Island, new building, clean, great position, very good breakfast. All people working here are the best you can have, friendly and willing to help. Special thanks to Rodrigo who gave me the best tips to go around the island and organizing everything in few minutes.
Very very recommended! I hope to come back soon.

Great spot for our family of 5.
Great spot for our family of 5. The hotel had a great breakfast. Brought In a playpen for us for our 2 yo but we didn’t even need it as the bed was very large and could fit our son in with us. our other two kids stayed in a bunk bed which they loved.
Location is a tiny bit far with the kids, but out kids actually did great walking to and from. Our only tiny complaint would be the pool was green, even though they cleaned and treated it every day. There was too much chlorine which was more irritating for me than the kids. They didn’t mind at all. Overall great!
We would definitely come back!

The entire island is wonderful and staying at Abraão was perfect for us. There were shops and supermarkets and many things to do such as canoeing and hiking. It is not the cheapest place in Brazil but really worth the visit! We had some good Italian food and enjoyed some caipirinha deals. We felt super safe also at night and enjoyed that we were able to walk everywhere!

Ilha Grande is paradise on earth, staying in Abrao is the smartest decision since is the "center" of the island. From there you can go everywhere you'd like. Either by hiking / walking or boat, you'll see the most amazing beaches, some of them even look caribbean.

Abraão itself is a place full of inns, BnBs and restaurants, but regarding attractions, Abraão is just the starting point of most "Ilha Grande" adventures.
Getting to Abraão is pretty easy, but you always have to pay attention to either the public ferry schedule or the "Flexboat" schedule. The public ferry (Barca) comes from Angra or Mangaratiba only once a day and it's the cheapest passage you can get, but it's a 90 minutes trip. The Flexboat schedule is made of different private companies and they cost about 3 times more than the public ferry, but the commute is way faster taking about 30 minutes.
I really liked staying at "Pousada Agua Viva" and their help with the commute was awesome.
The best meal I had at Abraao was at "Lua e Mar" and I ate the "Lua e Mar Grill"

I would highly recommend to spend 3-4 days at ilha grande and specifically Abraão. Take a boat trip to different islands on two of those days and spend the rest of the days just hanging out on the island itself. There is not too much to do on itself but eating at nice restaurants, speaking to the friendly locals and hanging out at the beach will make sure you will be fully rested at the end of your stay over here.
Super clean! I've stayed in a lot of hostels over the past few months and this was the cleanest hostel I've stayed at so far. I loved the vibe and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The cats and dog were so sweet as well, and not an issue for me despite being allergic.
The dorm rooms are comfortable and the AC is so nice for the humid nights. The price was great too! Also, I appreciated that the location is in town but a street away from the main streets so that it's fairly quiet but very close to the rest of Abraão.
We loved everything about our wonderful stay at Asalem. The setting is exactly what we were looking for - off the beaten path with a great bar and wonderful staff but still close enough to town. Fabrizio and the staff were wonderful and accommodated our every need. Rooms were comfy and had everything we needed. Views were spectacular!! We traveled as two couples for my 40th birthday and I'm so happy I picked this hotel. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Our stay at Aretê was great!
Esmeralda is a lovely host, she prepares a very good and fresh breakfast every day, and makes the most to make you feel comfortable.
Carlos was simply amazing: he was clear in explanation ,and helped us a lot to plan tours , gave us good suggestion where to go and what to do. Besides he also speaks English (not that common in Brazil) and Spanish as well as Portuguese.
Highly recommended!
Great location & at the quieter end of Abraao so for us it was the best of both worlds. We could relax on the beach & then head into the main area on an evening for food & drinks etc. The breakfast was great & they put on complimentary tea/coffee & cake everyday at 5 pm which was a really nice touch. Lorenzo was so friendly & helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this pousada!
this was an amazing stay! the place is right by the beach so you go to sleep to the sound of the ocean. the staff is super friendly (Renata was great) and very willing to help. The shower is the best we had in all Brazil! It’s far enough away from the center of town to be feel like a retreat, but still close to some great restaurants by the beach. Excellent breakfast!
It was simply one of the best experience of our trip in Brazil. The hosts are amazing and make you feel at home immediately. It is a 5 stars service and it makes life so much easier on this island. we extended our stay twice and it was still not enough..
Not even mentioning that you are in the middle of a beautiful garden itself in the middle of the jungle.
Amazing views, right on the beach, modern architecture, amongst nature. It is secluded,15 min hike from the Abraao. The staff, Stella and Stephane were extremely helpful and friendly-helped us organize great tours, transportation and met our special needs. You can even get a massage right at the property to the sound of the waves. We loved it there!
The property has amazing views, private beach and you can use they kayaks to swim around.
You can access the hotel only by boat however there is a sailor with a boat at the hotel all the time and trips from and to hotel from Abroaa are actually super nice especially at night. It was the best decision to stay at this hotel.
Super lovely stay at the hotel. Lovely pool area and also play area. I guess the best surprise was the breakfast - excellent should I say. Enjoyed the stay a lot.
the staff also spoke english, which in fact, is not so common everywhere.
Other than that - the stay was excellent and we enjoyed a lot.
This was an excellent place, and I would stay again. It was close enough to easily walk to all the things in the center, but far away enough to avoid noise. Ivan, the host was extremely friendly and helpful. Typical Brazilian breakfast was delicious, including homemade cakes!
best hostel staff ive met in three months of traveling. perfect chill vibes during the day and fun ones during the nights!! best Caipis Ive had by far!!! the staff helped with every small thing from lending us an avocado when cooking and more to booking us bus tickets.
Amazing pousada in Ilha Grande. The house is beautiful, very well maintained. Staff is super friendly, everything is very clean, breakfast has a great variety. The location is two minutes walking distance from the Abraao Pier, so it couldn't be better.
Excellent place to stay, the hotel beach is one of the best on the island. The attention of the staff is the best. Delicious food and desserts. The hosts were always attentive to any need we had.
the staff were amazing, especially Karen and Fabrizio. Asalem was a stunning boutique hotel in a really lovely, secluded location. The house Caipirinha were DELICIOUS!
the view at the breakfast and from the rooms is amazing. the people are super friendly and the location is just perfect (close to abraao but not in the crowdy center)
