This is the place to stay if you are going to Tofino. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had the best view of the ocean and can hear the waves at night, which is very soothing. Rooms are very comfortable, and I couldn't ask for anything better. I highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

Tofino is worth the drive.
Tofino is worth the drive. Loved the casual vibe of this remote surf town. In winter it was delightful. We went up to Ucluelet and did a walk. We surfed in very thick wetsuits, and we had a sauna on the beach. The whale watching in winter didn't seem to be so easy to find.

What an absolutely interesting place!
What an absolutely interesting place! And we experienced both a trees breaking, power outing ferocious storm, and some pleasant and moderately sunny weather. Our stay at the Tin Wis Resort was beyond our expectations. We look forward to coming back, maybe in the summer next time.

Visiting in the "off season" was very nice.
Visiting in the "off season" was very nice. Everyone seemed relaxed and there were no crowds. Lots of free parking available. Most stores/restaurants were open. Some of the tour groups were still operating as well.
Co-op was a great place for reasonably priced groceries, including a deli/bakery.
Trails were well groomed and easy to locate. Try to work in the Bog Boardwalk trail as it's a very unusual area.
People were still surfing/kayaking, etc.

The 1.5 hr seaplane flight with Atleo was excellent - stop at a remote lake for a swim, see the coast, the interior, - just excellent.
Food was disappointing - by the sea yet very few served seafood that focused on the seafood - the focus seemed to be on having as many flavours as possible

It is an adventure type of trip.
It is an adventure type of trip. Huge trees, beaches are amazing, views, sunsets, and it has a feel of being a long ways away from just another tourist trap. The drive in is long and winding and you have to be really careful. Try to not arrive after dark as the highway has many tight curves that add to the risk. It is a fantastic getaway though, and the effort to get there and back is worth it. Try to stop at a few of the rest stops or parks along the way as they are really worth it.
You get what you pay for. If you don't want to pay 300+ a night for a hotel, the schooner is a good option. All we needed to do was sleep there and it was a good money saver considering the price of what was left for options around town or even in Ucluelet. It was a clean and quiet enough spot to lay our heads. It is perfectly located downtown, so you can walk around the shops and stores downtown and be right on the water.
The staff was super friendly!!!
Given the poor quality of hotels and the unprofessionalism of those working in hotels in tofino, I immediately thought the worst: instead
- excellent price
- professional and friendly manager even helped me with a problem with the van
- room maybe a little warm but in the evening it was fine
- cleanliness excellent
- slept great, too bad I only had one night
- spectacular location
View to the beach was awesome, calm and private look, especially at sun set.
The weather was great and using the outdoor facilities -seating area, BBQ, walking at the beach were supper pleasant.
We were three families and have three cabins. facilities were very convenient to get together as a group to enjoy the day time and separate for sleeping.
Stay was absolutely A M A Z I N G! Thank you 🙏 for a phenomenal vacation. The room assignment was spectacular ; best accommodation in Tofino! Beach walks and hiking trails at our doorstep. Surf grill not to be underestimated ! Fish tacos were fabulous. Attentive and responsive staff ; love the text concierge! Seamless safety protocols in place.
The staff were excellent (Patrick, Rayon, Steph, even the construction crew on the roadway to and from the Best Western were friendly, often stopping to chat with us). The grounds and buildings are being kept to the standard we're use to an the Best Western Plus facilities.
The property is very accessible to very good restaurants and shops. Walking distance to the beach and closed to highway. It is few kilometers to Tofino town center .The owner is very friendly and accommodating with always a big smile on her face.
The room has a wonderful view of the harbor and location was central to Tofino. We also loved that it was spacious, had a kitchenette so we could prepare some of our meals. This was a very peaceful place to stay during our trip to the area.
Really great owners, super accommodating! perfect location and probably one of the most reasonably priced in Tofino (hotel avg. in Tofino July/August is between $490 and $590 per night, the Schooner was less than $250)
The hotel is situated at the end of a street off the main road, which is perfect if you want to experience the nature and stillness of Tofino. The downtown is a short walk away if you need to grab coffee/food/supplies
