Our trip was amazing, however there was one theme that was a huge put off. Some of the places we went had absolutely horrible attitudes towards us. Rude with no greetings and sour faces, it is not nice to be treated like that. This was NOT at every place we went but it was enough times to stand out.
Apart from that....it was a fun filled trip

Rarotonga is a great place to visit.
Rarotonga is a great place to visit. Its layed back and the weather is very nice. The beaches are great. We ate at Supper Browne in Tupapa at their cafe which was reasonably cheap steak meal. The local food on the early morning on Sunday was fantastic. Going to the movies could be good for young couples to spend some quality time without being too occupied with big expensive activities.

Enjoyed staying on the island of Rarotonga.
Enjoyed staying on the island of Rarotonga. Also did a day trip to Aitutaki. Both places were great for snorkelling, need water shoes to protect your feet from the coral.
Night markets offered delicious food.
We used the local bus to get around the island.

There is something special about this place.
There is something special about this place. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we felt so relaxed and welcomed. We stayed at Club Raro Resort (Adults Only) and I can only speak highly about this accommodation. They have amazing staff and the restaurant offers the BEST ribs on the island! Rarotonga is so relaxed and peaceful, all the locals and business's are really friendly, helpful and welcoming. You can use your New Zealand dollars, so no need for exchanging money before your trip. Easy to get around the island via rental car, scooter, bike or bus. Koka Lagoon Cruises were excellent! Four hours of fun, beautiful fish to see, snorkeling, yummy lunch and an entertaining show on an island. Happy Hour at The Edgewater Resort were a great price and so good. I've been here twice now and Raro will continue to be my annual holiday from now on.
We had a lovely seaview room that looked out across the top of other resort buildings, out to the ocean. Our room was very clean, very comfortable and all that we needed. It was excellent value for money. We had a couple of meals at the restaurant and particularly loved the Ika Mata. The absolute standout at the Castaway Resort was the staff. Before, during and upon check out they were outstanding and are truly an asset to the resort and as representatives of Rarotonga. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.
Amazing location with spectacular views from the rooms. Love the activities provided by the resort and the dual use of the Sanctuary and the Rarotongan. Food and drinks were great. Amazing range of fruits for breakfast. Swim up bar and pool were great places to either relax or socialize.
Although service at times may be seen to be slow (other reviews), it's Raro time!!!! Relax, sit back and enjoy! Keep an eye out for Ringi and Aisake, they are the personalities of the place and couldn't ask for better service!
Customer service was 100% beautiful very friendly environment the best hotel i have ever stayed in will 100% recommend this to my family and friends and will 100% come back, they had everything my children loved every moment and didnt want to leave we were only suppose to stay 3nights but added a extra 10nights, pool, beach, kids playroom, food, and they also have daily activities to keep you going best part is snokerling aswell, keri and mark thank you for the room upgrade really appreciated 💚will be back
Travellers need to be adaptable and understanding that Rarotonga is a developing island nation. Just about everything, except for taro and coconuts, is imported. Freight costs are high therefore living costs are high. Don't expect a cheap holiday. Also, due to the 2020 Covid pandemic, a lot of Rarotongans have left the island to find work in NZ and Australia. Locals are working two or three jobs to cater to the needs of tourists. Please be understanding and kind to the locals.
It was perfect for a family holiday. Facilities top notch. The owners were amazing and nothing was too much for them to make sure we had a great holiday. They arranged in house massage, and there was an endless supply of fruit for us to eat. They were happy to drive us to collect our car after the cross island walk. I honestly cannot recommend this property enough- 5 star.
The resorts location is very central to this side of the island. 15 mins to town or Muri beach. This is the second time we have stayed here and the snorkelling is probably the best on the island. The ambience makes you feel like you are in a tropical location. The staff are very welcoming. There is so much for families to do at the resort.
The view is insane. The snorkeling out the front is the best we had all over island. The photos don't capture how beautiful it is. House is huge, comfortable and well equipped. Has everything you need. Fancy views but homey house. Little store directly across road and big supermarket 10 minute walk away. Bus stops right outside.
Muri Beach is a great location on the island! We were there for a wedding with a few other guests staying in hotels nearby which made catch ups easy. The resort itself is lovely, it's the sister resort of Nautilus so we used the same restaurant facilities as Nautilus guests. The staff were lovely at both locations.
5 star service from all the staff who could not have been more helpful. Lovely room with a large comfy bed, spacious power shower, good sized heat pump to keep the temp down.
Nice breakfast to start the day, happy hour cocktails were a special treat at 3pm every day.
We had a fabulous time at Muri Beachcomber. From our arrival via airport transfer to the day we left a week later everything was a breeze.
The staff we so helpful and friendly. The rooms, deck, view, grounds, everything was just what we needed.
We will return.
The location of the place was very handy to a lot of tourist attractions. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wishes to travel to Rarotonga for a nice family trip or group of friends. The host was very friendly and accommodating.
One of the best spot in Rarotonga where to enjoy the sunset, beautiful location and so peaceful, Dennis and Patti has been great hosts and always available, the attention to the details and the room cleaning are stunning! Highly recommended
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
2nd time to Rarotonga and this was by far the best location for the beach, bars, cafe's, activities, vehicle hire and more
Nice friendly hosts.
Comfy bed bed and the water pressure in the shower was great.
Room was really cool, we had a spa and sauna as well as a beautiful bed. The snorkelling was the best on the island, so many fish! The food and drinks were very good and enjoyed the atmosphere of the Rarotongan side of the complex.
Some breakfast supplies very thoughtfully provided. The bungalow is close to the ocean, the Rarotongan, and a store - and Shipwreck Hut. Couldn't have been better location, facilities, or host - excellent.
Nice deck, good sized unit, fine for 3.
Good kitchen and roomy bathroom.
Very near to the Rarotongan Hotel, and a good snorkelling beach.
Host very friendly and helpful. Plenty of filtered water too.
