There was a great restaurant across the square from the hotel, next to the station building. The Pizza was especially good. There was free parking in the station carpark around 100m away from the hotel and what looked like a number of other free parking opportunities in the area.

Lovely little town with a variety of old buildings, small streets, lovely park areas and good choices of food outlets. Ate at the Ristorante Fratelli across the street from the hotel. Excellent ! ! Easy to walk around to town.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag.

Kolding was a bit of a mixed bag. We stayed for 2 nights and used it as a base to travel to Legoland and other parts of Jutland. The drive into Kolding was slow due to traffic, and finding parking next to the hotel was tricky with the different duration rules, but then settled on parking in the hotel itself. In the evening, around 7ish, the area around the castle felt very quiet, too quiet. There were restaurants open but it did not feel lively, though this may have been because it was mid April. A nice stop was at the StorCentre shopping centre. Plenty more people here, lots of shops and lots of food opens. Restaurants seem to stay open longer here than the rest of denmark in general. All in all not a bad stay, definitely needed more time to explore.

Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake.

Beautiful Town near the coast, (Little Belt) with a lake. Good starting point for a daytrip to other sights in Denmark such as Ribe (viking town), Legoland (less then 1 hour drive), Kopenhagen (2.5 hours), Bogense (50 mins). Only a view minutes from the lake you have several sushi bars, pizza takeaways, thai restaurant, fine dining, supermarket and a passage with pubs. There is also a wonderful botanical garden with petting zoo (goats), rose garden and a miniture of the town of Kolding to walk through.

Kolding is a nice town with a good history.

Kolding is a nice town with a good history. The viking castle in the middle of the town is obviously a main attraction, but if you look further you'll find a toy-museum downtown, and if you venture a little outside of the center, you'll find the Trapholt museum, which is very modern and progressive. Kolding also has an amazing graffiti-culture which really shines when you walk around downtown. If you're looking for lunch, go to either Tobber's or The Mokka Café, and if you rather fancy a burger the only place you need to go is the Burger Spot. If you're looking for dinner, you can have dinner at the restaurant in the viking castle. It's one of the best restaurants in Kolding. A bit pricey, but worth it. Otherwise, downtown you'll find Rafael's Ristorante, and if you're not in the mood for Italian, you can skip down to Hereford Beefstouw. If you want to hit the town for a beer in the evening, there are three quality places to look for. If you're looking for the young crowd you need to go to Knud's Garage. For a more adult crowd seek out the You'll Never Walk Alone pub (this is also the place to go if you're looking for a sports-pub). Finally, if you're more of a nightclub kinda person, Pitstop is the best in Kolding.

For Danish prices, I would say this was great value for money, if you travel by car. Pretty big room. The breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely stay here again! I booked this place, because I had stayed at Scandic hotels before and I knew they provide a certain standard, regardless of the number of stars and I was not disappointed. Staff was very nice, especially a younger blond girl (did not catch the name), who was working the breakfast and a lady (I would assume of Asian heritage), who was in charge of the check in Friday evening.

Check-in was fast and painless. Staff personable. Room nice, bed comfy, quiet room, lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Nice lobby where you can purchase beer and wine and hang out on the couches. Breakfast was okay. Standout is the location across from the train station and near a beautiful lake you can walk around. Stunning area. Can walk to restaurants which was great. Had dinner at a Japanese place near the hotel that was fantastic!!

Very nice and luxurious apartment in the old city centre of Kolding. Lots of cafés and eateries around, but still quiet at night. Well equiped kitchen. Very clean; nice beds and bedding; luxury bathroom. Balcony and terraces looked lovely, but wind and rain spoiled the opportunity. Room service available from the restaurant below, where you can pick up your key from the helpful staff

That it had an elevator which was great. The temporary reception lady was exceptional. I’ve stayed in about 24 hotels in the last month traveling through Netherlands, Germany and now in Denmark and she was definitely one of the best. Very welcoming, helpful, informative and more importantly, hospitable.

The hotel is located at one of the most beautiful places in Denmark - easy accessible. The hotel is an old building but kept in mint condition. As a foreigner you may find this incredible interesting.

Location is very good close to the castle and a nice view of the lake. The style of the apartments is to my liking - modern, limited color palette, big windows, french balconies to every direction.

Check-in, lobby, and restaurant are nice. The beds are nice-ish (actually, for Scandinavia, they're decent). Everything worked and was kept very clean. Sheets and towels were fresh and pleasant.
