Old building with stained glass in room. Currently undergoing renovations so not looking at its best. Suspect that was why the price was affordable for us. Breakfast was good.
Ideally situated in a quiet street in the centre of historical Tours, Hotel Du Cygne is housed in a charming 18th-century building which has been renovated to offer modern comfort.

Nice cozy hotel in the middle of everything.
Loved the colors and the decoration. That really made it special.
Also the breakfast was very nice.

The staff at reception (Giovani) was extremely helpful. He speaks fluent French, Spanish and English and helped us to find a 'mobile mechanic' for our car. Location of Hotel is on busy road around the corner from the station, but noise level was less then expected. The city centre and cathedral are about 10 minutes walk. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent. We will certainly return.

Vertez is compact, there are a couple of restaurants, we had a simple meal at the Creperie which was cooked fresh and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nearby, there are small towns and villages offering a choice of restaurants. A particular favourite is La Boulaye at Athee-sur-Cher, a short distance away and situated by the river, they offer a small menu but adequate choices and the food was excellent. This was recommended by our hosts.
