Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough...
Our hotel location was on the South side of Scarborough which we prefer due to being quieter with great walks, Italian Garden area and panoramic views of the harbour town area and beach. The town centre area has plenty of shops, eateries and entertainments but not as preferable. We didn't visit the North bay area but it does feature a great park area to explore. On busy days traffic routes through the town can be tiresome and badly signposted for unfamiliar driving visitors. (without satnav guidance maybe?!) Parking can be problematic so do some homework before booking a location.

I actually really like this place , we went to a small local restaurant called
II Piatto ( I went there the last time I stayed) you may need to book but you will not be disappointed with the food. They also take the taste card so you get 2 for 1 on a main course.

Beautiful beach.
Beautiful beach. Very hilly to get to town but a tramway provides a great service to and from the beach. Food delicious. Fish and chips, dohnuts, pies,. Can do boat trips and a crazy golf too. Town centre has shops and quirky unique ones too. Beautiful place, Of course the tV show The Royal was filmed here too.

I liked the friendly people and I loved the cliff railways. The 2p amusement arcades were fun too.
My highlights:
Going on the miniature railway in north bay
Trip on the pirate ship where we saw a dolphin
The two working cliff lifts (funicular railways)
Fish and chips
Lots of ice cream
The castle

Scarborough has sone lovely buildings and history.
Scarborough has sone lovely buildings and history. The beaches are nice but weather was bad so they were closed due to high tide flooding street at harbour.
Lots of places shit so we struggled to find places to eat breakfast not many cafes open, evenings not many places to eat as lots shut early as seems out of season. The Scarborough arms pub we found near the apartment was the best, great food and beer, lovely building and atmosphere. Best food in town.
High street lots of shops and pretty bustling. Police about so felt safe.
Just found did most of it in 2 days so long enough for us

Scarborough is a traditional British seaside resort with 2...
Scarborough is a traditional British seaside resort with 2 fantastic beaches to enjoy. There is so much to do in both areas, the North Bay beach is less commercial with beautiful and colourful beach huts and a few fantastic restaurants and bars and places to get ice cream. At the very end of this bay is the Sea Life Centre which is a great day out, especially if the weather isn't great. Peasholm Park is also on the North side where you can enjoy a walk or a trip on a dragon pedalo and just over the road is the Open Air Theatre. Take a walk or a bus around Marine Drive to access the vibrant South Bay where you'll find a lovely harbour, amusements and another beach. Plenty of varied places to eat and drink. Be aware of tide times as the tide comes nearly all the way in (sometimes all the way in and over!) so this can influence your beach day! This review just scratches the surface of things you can do! Plus Bridlington is just a short drive down the coast and Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay up the coast - the North Yorkshire Moors and all the wonderful things you can do there makes Scarborough a great base to explore the area!
The location and value of this property are the main features. This was my 4th time staying there and Steve has taken this over from his lovely Mother 5 months ago...you can see he has started the refurbishment and is going through the hotel a bit at a time. The lower rooms have been done, but the top floor hadn't as yet, but Rome wasn't built in a day and I wish him all the best.
Parking is only 10.00 for 24 hrs and the breakfast is worthy of staying put, rather than venturing out
All the best for the future and I will return
The single room, although small, was really well designed and had absolutely everything I needed. Very light, nice big window. Decent sized shower and good water pressure. Comfy bed with quality linen. Sky TV . Tea making facilities. Full length mirror with sockets beside it....I've been to 4* hotels that don't think of that! Really friendly staff. As female traveling alone it felt safe. All for £38..... excellent value. Will definitely be back.
I went for a few days with my son who was back from university.
Rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Margaret and Steve the owners were lovely and always happy to help.
The location was about 5 minutes from the front. But really well situated for exploring the surrounding area on foot or car or bike.
Parking was a little tight but fine.
Will definitely go back to this hotel when we return to Scarborough in the future.
I will never stay elsewhere in Scarborough now I have found these apartments! The place was immaculate and quiet. I was working 14hr days and the thought of going back to the apartment was a huge morale boost (my colleagues had booked hotels). Somewhere I could relax, make a simple meal or get a takeaway ( the Thai restaurant opposite was great) instead of the effort of dining out. Bliss! Thoroughly recommended.
understood reviews were poor but unable to get alternative for NYE I decided to book, not expecting much. yes rooms are dated and not the best but hotel entertainment was fantastic! Different band/ music in each area, pool tables for kids, free hats party poppers etc. Rooms were clean, fresh beds just dated! This is easily the cheapest new year stay Iv ever had with lots of free entertainment!!
Perfect location!! On to the seafront in no time at all!! Absolutely beautiful apartment and was ideal for a small family like us. Our little boy has multiple food allergies so eating out on holiday isn't always that simple so going for a self-catered aparthotel like this was the perfect solution. We have family in Yorkshire so will definitely be booking here again!!
As we were staying in a ground floor apartment, and not a hotel breakfast wasn’t included. We had to walk 5 minutes down the road, to a cafe for breakfast which was lush.
We liked the fact that the ground floor apartment, was a short walk from Scarborough’s open air theatre as we were attending the Tom Jones concert for the second time at that venue.
Staff were fantastic. Owner very friendly made us feel welcome. We asked to book in early they advised us they would try their best and did book us in early. Rooms specious and clean
On street parking which hotel sold us a parking permit which works out cheaper than in a 24hr car park. Breakfast which was included was very good plenty of choice
I didn't have to meet the owner as there's a system where the door code and then the safe box containing room keys are given in order to allow you access to the hotel and room.
It has the best view in Scarborough, and real good location, for a pretty respectable price.
Also: good amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk in rooms.
The location was central as the name suggests and it was great for getting around Scarborough. The staff were very friendly and did their best when interacting. The Hotel looks like its in transition and the kitchen was having a refurb and although a little dated it was clean and comfortable.
Great quiet location , safe parking for motorcycles. Very clean hotel with comfortable lounge bar , attentive hosts and top quality breakfast set us up for a days racing at Olivers Mount. Within easy walk of the best real ale bar in Scarborough is another bonus.
We only went for the cosy room which was a decent size and well put together. The receptionists were all really friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening which was decent. Great location as right in the heart of Scarborough.
Lovely accomodation, fantastic correspndence from the owner (Tim), nothing too much trouble, great sea views, 10 mins walk into the centre of Scarborough, lovely little cafe 2 minutes walk from the hotel (Fairways) for breakfast.
The hotel and room were clean. I loved that there was a kettle with complimentary drinks. Also the entertainment was superb. The staff have all been friendly including reception, Bingo caller and cleaners.
Everything
Amazing place to stay, warm and huge comfy beds, fully kitted out.
Spotless clean with all you need
