Very good indeed, super comfortable ground floor room, with view. Had breakfast and evening meal there, dining room is beautiful, tastefully arranged plants and flowers. View over a lovely garden and hills. Charming hosts, one of which is a talented chef. What lovely prepared and tasty food it was. We stayed 3 days and nowhere was too far away to drive to seaside. We took our little dog, large grounds to walk and she loved the space to run around away from the house. They have everything there, including a pool. Just perfect.

A well placed hotel, near the sea front but in a quiet pleasant location. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the facilities were good. An excellent breakfast and worth the extra payment.

I always enjoy my stay at the Bedford. The location of the hotel is very convenient, and the room I usually have with the large balcony is perfect for me as a solo traveller. The staff are so nice and always friendly and helpful. I don't usually eat in (except for breakfast) but this time I had lunch and dinner there as well and all the food was delicious.

Sidmouth is utterly enchanting! I feel cheated that I didn't know about it before - it's like Bath's seaside cousin! Beautiful architecture, easy to walk around and a simply wonderful cove-shaped seafront with great cliffs at either end. We are planning to stay for a week next time.

Sidmouth is a lovely town.
Sidmouth is a lovely town. Plenty of well known shops to peruse. Plenty of eateries to try out. Lots of hotels of different styles to choose from. Views are fantastic and so is the beach. Fields department store has a wide range of favourite clothing labels to explore & hopefully purchase. A very good bus service can take you to lots of Devon places and further.

Good choice of hotels and good shops in the town if the weather isn't great. (Loads of really good charity shops!)
Not many restaurants are open in the evenings (especially early in the week) so you need to book in advance. Myca, Pea Green Boat and The Loft are all good. Much more choice at lunchtime and good coffee/tea shops with lovely cakes. The Scott cinema and Marine theatre are both sweet and worth a visit.
Buses go to a few places if you don't have a car - and seem to be very reliable.
Jacobs Ladder beach and the Connaught Gardens are well worth visiting and are nicer than the town beach yet still very close to the centre.
Be aware that rocks etc can fall from the cliffs! The Jurassic coastline is amazing but it can crumble suddenly.

Sidmouth was a beautiful little seaside town with plenty of places to eat and drink!
Dog friendly beach in winter and lots of dog-friendly pubs/cafes! Beach is shingle/large pebble so not for everyone, but there’s a promenade/path the whole way along!
Lots of nice little independent shops & charity shops!
Parking gets very busy so you’re better off parking in the ‘weekend and walk’ car park slightly outside town - not far at all!
We visited in February but I’ve been told is gets very busy from May onwards.
There is a folk festival on the first weekend of August every year which I hear is great (but very busy)!

The short break was very enjoyable 😄 Sidmouth town and our stay at the Blue Ball Inn was very enjoyable, we would also thank the staff and the new management team Jason and Vicki for a very enjoyable break.
The first room I stayed in was a small double with a sea view. Very clean, very comfortable. The wash-hand basin was in the bedroom not in the bathroom which was a bit strange but the bathroom was perfectly clean and serviceable. The breakfast was very good & there was plenty of choice. Service was friendly professional & prompt. The receptionists & all the staff I came across were very polite. The location of the hotel is fantastic. Right on Sidmouth Sea Front.
My room was beautiful, a balcony with a sea view, a large room, clean with a comfortable bed. I’ve been coming here for a few years now, and to Sidmouth itself a lot longer. The hotel is family run, not a chain. The staff are all welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. You are spoilt for choice at breakfast, so many options to choose from and good local produce too. The bar area is lovely to sit and relax in.
This is not my first visit to the Harbour in Sidmouth we've friends locally. I always have a lovely stay rooms are very comfortable the breakfast is lovely and the setting is excellent. The only downside is that you don't redeem parking anymore which means if you get a parking space and head out quite often there are weddings which means the hotel parking fills up again which when you're staying isn't great.
THe location cannot be matched - the best in Sidmouth. This is definitely an old school hotel which is their pride. It definitely seemed like a waste of time and paper to send me a confirmation snail mail and insist on a paper copy of your room bill with a fancy envelope with your name typed on it. While i appreicate all the personal gestures it seems resource intensive and could be used elsewhere.
Friendly welcome to this lovely pub in Sidford. Very convenient after a day in charming Sidmouth. The restaurant had been busy with Sunday carvery but the receptionist sorted a table for us for dinner. Lovely crab and prawn linguine. Comfy room, coffee maker with Cafe pods was a bonus. Lovely range of full size toiletries in the en suite. Delicious breakfast the next morning.
The location was excellent for visiting our mother, as she lives in Sidmouth but the cost of hotels, etc., there is huge. The apartment was well-equipped with utensils, towels, bedding, etc., and very clean indeed. The beds were comfortable and the location was wonderfully quiet. Perhaps next time we will bring our dogs!
An exceptional boutique-style hotel in a leafy setting on the outskirts of Sidmouth's quaint town centre. The hotel represented good value for money and provided accommodation of the highest calibre. The cooked breakfast was delightful and there was always an offer of further helpings and coffee top-ups.
Sue made us feel very welcome. the room was spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast each day was exceptional. The location of Buckley Farmhouse is two miles outside of Sidmouth and therefore you are staying in very quiet countryside, no passing traffic or street lighting to keep you awake.
The location of the hotel was perfect, easy reach of everything Sidmouth has to offer. Great views of the sea from our room, even though maintenance was being carried out at the hotel, it didn't cause any issues for us. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.
Superb location for access to shops, public transport and beach. Excellent value for money given the hotel’s location on the seafront of Sidmouth. A good selection on breakfast menu ranging from fruit/toast to a full blown cooked breakfast.
Lovely B&B in a peaceful setting just a couple of miles from Sidmouth. Wonderful breakfast with an unusually wide range of choices. Comfy bed, large room, nice big shower. Liz is a wonderful host--very welcoming and helpful.
This Hotel exceeded our expectations, we will definitely book another holiday , with Mount Pleasant Hotel, all meals were just excellent, room etc, spotlessly clean.Situated in a beautiful position, in Sidmouth.
Excellent room with lovely sea view. Breakfast excellent with plenty of choice particularly the poached egg options,(Benedict. Royale etc.) Enjoyed being able to sit out on the Kingswood Hotel Terrace.
Room was warm, clean and quiet, and the shower was easy to operate. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was excellent. We will use this guest house again when we're in Sidmouth.
Fantastic location great room. The breakfast was brilliant with loads of continental options before the full English. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Good bar also.
The woodlands Hotel was really nice with a clean and comfortable room and very good facilities. The breakfast was very good. We would definitely recommend staying there.
