Best to go when there is no snow.
Best to go when there is no snow. Get a taxi to the Karlag/gulag museum that is just outside of town. You can also book an English tour guide for that museum to learn more. The city's central park is nice and there are many good restaurants in the city. An easy weekend trip in Kazakhstan from Astana.RaquelUnited States

To the train station, it's around 20 mins walk. There is a fridge, cooking possibility and even a washing machine in the apartment. And especially to mention the very nice host Svetlana! Thank you for the nice time!

The hotel is within very easy 10-minute walking access of the train station and there are numerous shopping and eating options in the vicinity.
