It is very hard to describe this hotel. Location-close to the ferry, great views. We stayed in two rooms, one with fjord view and another with village view. Rooms size was decent and rooms had tv, table, bed and all you would expect. No hairdryer though. One room was partly renovated and another one was not. Needs serious refresh. Both rooms seemed clean but in one room trash in the bathroom was not emptied and someone’s underwear was lying on the floor. So we really questioned the cleanliness from that point. Breakfast was below basic. Staff is trying their best to provide good services but they are clearly understaffed. Same person is running between kitchen and reception.

Hotel Noreg is located in Ålesund city centre, 50 metres from the bus station and the Hurtigruten Ferry Terminal. Public parking is accessible nearby. Free WiFi is available.

One of the most memorable stays in a hotel of my life, from the wonderful, attentive staff who did everything they could to make our stay so special, to the great healthy meals in the restaurant and of course that amazing location. The view from the upstairs room was just stunning, I only wish we could had of stayed longer!

Very good hotel, rooms very comfy and spacious. The view from the room was spectacular, one of the best we ever had. Breakfast very good. Location walking distance to all attractions and restaurants.

The room was absolutely beautiful overlooking the waterfront. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location was perfect it was overall just a beautiful hotel in a lovely town.

Thé breakfast was excellent. My only regret was that it started being served at 08.00, thus I had little time before my departure for the sightseeing tours. View over the canal or fjord excellent. The position is central,therefore it is easy to move around the city.
