Shocking staff. We will not visit again.
Shocking staff. We will not visit again. We stayed 4 nights in Tulip Inn hotel nearby and it was amazing experience despite being small. But we made mistake to stay in this hotel. Not value for money. They spoiled our holiday because of poor customer service experience and unfriendly staff. Absolutely lost words

As I visited Reunion many times I can say the island is wonderful. Waterfalls, ravines, often erupting volcano, excellent beaches. St Denis is a base for discovering it by easily renting a car at the airport. The city is for work or nightlife. The prices are higher than in neighbouring islands. The higher the accomodation price the better value you get.

The place can be easily reachable for anyone and a lot of restaurant and shop around which gives you a very big choice. The atmosphere is cool and the people are very friendly. There is also a nice place to relax yourself at the barachois.

It is an extremely clean area and people are very pleasant and helpful. However, the cost of living is relatively high and shopping may not really be an option unless you want to buy branded items.
Wrt transport, taxi service across the island is quite high, so you can use the bus as transport medium which cost €1.30 for 2hrs (can be purchased with the bus driver directly). Alternately, renting a car is also a good option as in some areas of the island, buses come every hour.
The network operators (sfr, orange, etc) are extremely expensive for tourists and can only be purchased in the operators' shops.

Saint-Denis is the capital of the island and is OK for a day to acclimatise to the island, there are many restaurants and shops, and the "Jardin de l'Etat", the city's botanical garden, is very nice. But there are no beaches or many touristy things to see. I would definitely not recommend staying there for the rest of the visit, but rather going to the West of the Island with the amazing beaches and easier access to the hiking in the mountains.

Try and be there on the 21st June as each year they have a band music festival, the central city streets are closed off and a large variety of bands set up and play all evening. There were also great food stalls set up on one of the streets, fantastic evening. Easy place to walk around during the day to see all the older houses, very good tourist info centre. The Coffee Shop serves amazing delicious food in a lovely environment, sorry can't remember the street name, it is in the centre of the city. Take a bus ride down the west coast to the beach for the cost of a few euros, good bus service.
Nice premises and comfortable recently built modern and fully equipped appartments were expected by us. Still, we were plesantly suprised by combination of quiet surrounding and convenient distance to town. Since we were cought on the island by Belal cyclon we were forced to stay closed in for some time. However, it highlighted the superb service and thoughfulness of the staff. Should you meet Laurence there feel safe and catered for whatever happens.
Rameez at reception was friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions.
The shared dormitory has several outlets to charge your phone.
Clean, fresh towels and sheets were provided and the air conditioning worked very well. On the second day my pillow and towel were changed.
They also offered free coffee at the reception.
Very well located within 5 minutes walk from the Saint-Denis / l'Océan bus station and several supermarkets are nearby.
The people, the reception team gives world class service. They are so helpful. Helped me with bookings of activities and recommendations for transportation around the island
The breakfast has a wide spread of section of food
They have a cafe in the hotel, for quick easy meals- there is no need to have the expensive hotel lunch
Location is perfect, close to bus stops and restaurants and short walk 10-15min from shops, museums and parks
Very comfortable bedrooms, lovely little terrace garden and very conveniently located in the heart of St Denis. The closest bus station is Jardin de l'État, which is very convenient as the majority of routes run through there. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant, which you can book separately, serves amazing food and drinks. The hotel is a beautiful building with a unique style to it.
I only popped into Reunion for one night (traveling between Mauritius and Seychelles) but this place was perfect for the evening -- good value for the island and convenient to airport, less than a 10-minute drive. The neighborhood is super quiet and the room was real cozy. The owner is nice and you can park in his driveway, made everything really easy. Thanks!
Location - the hotel is in the middle of the town. Great place to stay for visiting the sights.
Staff - very helpful on arrival
Breakfast - was included in the price we paid, and there was plenty of food available.
Free car parking - we were fortunate and arrived in time to get one of the limited number of spaces
Very nice and charming little hotel, very welcoming receptionist and well placed in the city. Within walking distance from pedestrian area.
The rooms were a comfortable size and airy.
With an additional Euro 30.- we could keep one of the 3 booked room for a late checkout (1PM)
We had been many times before but not in this room, which we thought was very good (in the central part of the complex). Otherwise, my only comment is that this is the only high-standard hotel you can get in St. Denis centre.
Nice owners, cool room, fast WiFi and good location in a great city. I enjoyed backpacking Reunion Island away and recommend Kaz Hotel for a textbook trip.
