Nickerie is a remote town 3 hours drive from Paramaribo and there are fewer options. Waterloo where Alicia's is a little out of town but that made it quiet and safe. The birdwatching in and around Nickerie is excellent. Bigi Pan was closed, but we found an alternative river trip which included a sloth, howler monkeys, scarlet ibis, and many more.... The birds from the apartment are good too. The apartment was spacious and had what you needed in the kitchen. The welcome was friendly and helpful to find somewhere to eat after a long drive.
