Walking distance to almost everything I needed in the village shopping area. The proximity to Balmoral Castle really surprised me too. Well manicured and very quiet neighbourhood, exactly what I wanted for a good break. Full marks to the self-catering facilities and cottage arrangement.

Fairdene Cottage was perfect. So adorable and comfortable. I was able to visit Balmoral and also the Ballater train station with a replica of Queen Victoria's train carriage. I loved everything about the cottage and its location.

Very cosy funxtionable space. The hot tub was lovely and warm even in sub 0c temperatures. The woodburner is excellent and keeps the lodge nice and warm. Wonderful layout and design, everything you need.

Fully enclosed garden so really good for pets and small children. No parking outside the property but this isn’t an issue as lots of on street parking less than a minute walk away. Hot tub outside was amazing and very easy to light. Great communication from the hosts especially Keira who was extremely helpful. Thankyou for a great stay- we will be back.

Felt very homely especially with fresh flowers and welcome pack on our arrival. Loads of activities available locally including hiking, cycling and gliding.
