Absolutely loved the character and charm of the hotel, the facilities, the lounge area for breakfast/evening drinks, ease of use of the washer/dryer that was there. The hotel was in a quiet residential section of Kyoto, yet access to Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and downtown Kyoto was very easy and within a 15 minute walk. Access to the train stations and Uber/Taxi's were equally easy. Amazing local restaurants within walking distance of the Hotel - highly recommend Daigan around the corner for an amazing sushi with an engaging/entertaining/welcoming chef.

Offering sea views, 舟宿 壱 is an accommodation located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine. Very beautiful old style Japanese local house but mixed with modern style. An entire house is fabulous with the view and place. Nice free space for living room and table tennis. The relaxing space next to the sea is very good vibe. The staff is very helpful to explain everything in the house, provide the house tour and help to manage dinner and breakfast.

In the Nakagyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Kyoto International Manga Museum, 谷町君・星屋旅館・神泉ノ宿 二条城 has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. The property is located in central Kyoto, near Nijo-jo castle, one of the main attraction in Kyoto. Also it is located near to the station. The facilities of the accommodation is very good, especially the washing machine, dryer and kitchen, which make it easier for groups or families to stay for couple of days. This is not a typical hotel, though. More like a self-serviced guesthouse located in one of central Kyoto neighborhood. So the service and availability of staff is not at par with normal hotels. Regardless, for people traveling in group or family, I think this property gives more flexibility.

In the Ukyo Ward district of Shimo saga, close to Arashiama Bamboo Grove, 谷町君・星屋・談山旅館 京都嵐山 has a garden, free WiFi and a washing machine. The staff waited for us to arrive and assist us with check-in even though we forgot to update them on our arrival timing. The room itself was really nice and comfortable, facilities and heating was really good. Staff was very friendly and the interior design of the room was very traditionally Japanese.

Convenient to everything you want or could need. James, the owner, goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay at the house and time in kyoto. His guidebook on what buses to take to attractions was incredibly helpful, and the wall map to show what attraction is in which direction. The 3 bedrooms upstairs allowed our family of 5 to have space, and the upstairs and downstairs toilet was very helpful. The house is located from the west exit at kyoto station, near JR office and trains.

Very good location, the host is very helpful and kind! Two different station are very close, walking distance from the house, as well as delicious restaurants. The house itself is very comfotable, amazing, suprising :) cozy, definetly worth to go back again! Everything what you need is right there! Kioto is a beautiful town, must see in Japan!
