The surroundings of the farm and nature was really serene and it was comfortable to relax ourselves as it was away from the crowd and noise (much more peaceful than the cities). We enjoyed the view very much and even got to see the farm animals from afar, such as the cows marching at dawn and the rabbit stealing some lettuce; how cute!! Even though the weather wasn’t perfect (it was wet and dreary), we still enjoyed having a stroll around the farm and snapping photos at every opportunity. The apartment was large and cozy, with fragrance (and a cow theme which is cute) in every room, even the toilet! We even got the chance to bring a book home from the collection, but it was a pity that none caught our interest :( (I did like the 100 Wonders of the World, though…)

This is truly a home away from home, well laid-out and fully-equipped, in which to prepare and eat meals, read, watch TV or Netflix, or just relax, with very comfortable beds. It’s beautifully appointed and decorated. It’s so quiet, with so many birds to watch. There was a generous provision of breakfast makings and snacks. We appreciated that we could get from the car to the accommodation without getting wet when it rained. The hosts and their lovely dog were so friendly.

Sea Urchin Cottage, que tiene jardín, terraza y restaurante, ofrece alojamiento en Miranda con wifi gratis y vistas al mar. After driving on one of the straighter roads in NZ coming from the Coromandel peninsula, and then enjoying the lovely view of the Coromandel mountains and clouds reflecting on the water, we were thrilled to see that Sea Urchin Cottage gave us this view. The cottage is delightful! It had everything we needed, and the host included some lovely little touches that seems to be missing from some places these days, such as lollies on the pillow. The cottage is perfect for a family as well as a company of 6. The outside verandah is conducive to comfortable outside eating. This is a place I could stay in for a few days as it is a home away from home. It’s in an area with lots of birds which bird enthusiasts would appreciate. host Paul and his wonder dog were very responsive and helpful in our communications.

The Homestead, que cuenta con terraza y servicio de traslado gratuito, ofrece alojamiento con una buena ubicación en Taupo, a 41 km de Orakei Korako y a 41 km de Orakei Korako - The Hidden Valley. Clean, cosy and well equipped home away from home. Lovely host as well.
