This was an unexpected stay in the area after car troubles but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! We stumbled on this farm in a panicky effort to find pet-friendly accommodation and I still can't believe our good fortune. The farm, and everyone on it, are fantastic. We were looking for a room for 1 night and ended up staying a lot longer. The cottages are incredibly comfortable, spacious, spotless, thoughtfully decorated and well kitted out in all rooms - the electric blankets, log fires, hot tub and freshly baked bread were amazing! There is plenty of space for the family, friends and furbabies. The setting is pretty spectacular - what a beautiful part of the world - and there are plenty of things to do within the property including fishing, hiking and birdwatching. Take the time to find the cranes, they're beautiful! A very big thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our stay so special. Deborah, in particular, was fantastic and really saved the day, I cannot speak highly enough of her and everything she has done for us - it is so encouraging to know that there are such kind people in this world, who will drop everything to come and rescue complete strangers. Do yourself a favour and book one of the cottages, it is 100% worth it!!

We are already recommending The Bunker to our friends for any trips they may be considering to Drakensberg. Jo is very thoughtful and communication was excellent in all respects. My kids were able to enjoy the outdoors and we loved exploring the trails. The view is just phenomenal. For international travelers, this has been one of the most amazing places we've ever stayed at. It delivered far more than we expected, and we are undoubtedly going to return to Forty Winks on our next visit to South Africa.
