Excellent location, surrounded by quiet and cute neighbourhood, and has fantastic view of the snowy mountains and lake, every morning the first thing I did was to go to the balcony and took pictures. It was extremely easy and quick to reach by bus 201 from Montreux centre;
Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, learnt me tips and we had funny conversations, I felt at home. It’s a family business and you could tell staff work like a lovely big family;
Breakfast was very cute and many choices, loved the bakery, hams, eggs, yogurt, melons, milk etc. I believed the owner of the hotel was serving guests during breakfast every morning, by asking my room number he knew how many people were coming with me for breakfast (so that he could suggest a table), such an impressive detail which makes you feel this is a super nice place to stay;
Interior design and decoration was fabulous, it felt like a mini Downton Abbey. Although it is now almost two hundred years old, it is just so elegant and cozy. They have menus from 1900s displaying on the wall, many old but beautiful drawings of the hotel in 1800s & 1900s. You would feel you are witnessing and becoming part of a history. One hundred years ago, there was a woman who travelled to Montreux by ship from the other side of the continent by herself, she wrote a diary which inspired me one hundred years later, it is very mind-blowing to think the hotel might have seen us both now:) I chose the hotel for this reason, and very pleasantly I enjoyed very much the stay!
The majestic Victoria Hotel can be found in Glion above Montreux (connected by funicular) and is renowned for its breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the snow-capped Alps.

Surrounded by Lake Geneva and glorious Alpine peaks, tranquil Montreux has enchanted artistes through the ages. Lord Byron was so inspired by the style and setting of waterfront Château de Chillon that he wrote a poem about it. Nowadays it is one of Switzerland’s most popular attractions.
Freddie Mercury also fell in love with Montreux and a lakefront statue in Place du Marché commemorates this former resident in typical pose, with one arm raised to the heavens. Queen fans flock here for the annual Memorial Day, just one musical festival hosted by this town. The most famous is the 2-week Montreux Jazz Festival, held in the Music & Convention Centre.
On the opposite side of town is Audiorama (the Swiss National Audiovisual Museum), near a funicular railway which climbs the hill. Further up the slopes is the family-friendly Rochers-de-Naye ski area, while the Les Pléiades pistes overlook neighbouring Vevey. Down at the quayside wooden chalets house stalls of the annual Christmas market.
Summer activities include boat trips, hiking and the Montreux-Oberland-Bernois narrow gauge railway whose trains allow you to really savour the views…and a nice cup of coffee.
The train station also connects to Geneva, site of the nearest airport, and Booking.com offers luxury hotels, apartments with views and cheap B&Bs nearby.

It's a wonderful small town on the bord of Geneva lake where you can find peace, quiet, meditate and reflect as you wish to find your inner self. It's different from other swiss cities and once you were here might understand why Freddie loved it so much.

Montreux is a wonderful region that one can spend 3-4 days in easily. The lake side views are phenomenal. One can choose from multiple options such as visit vineyards around Vevey, take a train ride from Vevey to Laussane (regional one not the fast trains), explore Chillon castle, do a trip on golden express or glacier express, take a trip to Roches de Nayers and just relax and enjoy scenic beauty of the region. Highly recommended

Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday.
Montreux is a wonderful location to spend your holiday. It has many restaurants to dine at. The view of the lake is stunning. There is plenty of public transport, and with free passes you can travel all around the town. And also there are a couple of free train journeys for you to travel up the mountain side. And should you feel lucky, you can try your luck at the Casino which is just across the road from the Hotel.

Two night/three days in Montreux barely scratched the surface of all the things to see and do. The charm, the location, culture and sheer beauty, especially along the lakefront captured my heart. May it capture yours, too!

Great for using as a base for travelling. Good boat trips on the lake and recommended for the Christmas Market. Riviera card saved some money when travelling with free bus travel between Vevey and Villeneuve along the lakeside.

Wonderful place.
Wonderful place. The city is confined in a narrow region between the lake and steep mountain, but still well organized without mess. There are several parking buildings which was ok during the jazz fest in September. So many wonderful places to visit if you take mountain trains from Montreux.
Basically you are paying for a 5 star hotel with a two star commodities plus the arrogance of the staff which was simply terrible. We wanted to have breakfast as 10am and the waiter (Hervé) told us that we couldn’t have breakfast because he had too much work to do and that there were too many people at the room (there were 2 more tables out of 20 occupied). A very sad experience that such a potentially beautiful place has deteriorated to such a point.
Exceptional location. Even the Fairmont Montreux Palace does not have this extraordinary location, quiet, right on the water with a breath taking view, and a terrasse next to the lake walking path. No noisy street between the hotel and the lake. Some renovated rooms, good breakfasts, good restaurant
Very pleasant staff willing to help, especially Estelle and Rosemarie at the reception. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets from our balcony on the 3rd floor.
Delightful stay in an idyllic location - the hotel is an absolute gem of a property, and the restaurant provided a fantastic dinner quite late on our arrival evening. Although the tickets aren't cheap, the hotel is right next to the funiculaire which takes you right up to the top of the mountains at 2,000m, with some unforgettable sights (and option to walk back down). Will definitely be back on our next trip to Switzerland!
Great services from the staff and the manager for taking care the well being of the customer.
Offered an upgrade to High floor room with balcony from the manager, which allow us to enjoy the scenic view of Montreux.
Breakfast option is fantastic, in fact one of the best breakfast I had compared to the other hotel.
Cost is slightly expensive compare to the surrounding hotel, however this worth every penny.
The location of the hotel could not be better, right at the foot of Montreux train station. Also, walking distance to the Lake Geneva and Christmas Market. Hotel is a grand old hotel kept in great condition. Spacious room and balcony with fantastic view of the lake and mountain. Had a bathtub. Will definitely book again if visiting.
This hotel is literally across the street from Montreux’s major rail station, where the Golden Pass concludes from Zweisimmen. The lakeside rooms face the opposite direction so we could not hear the trains, thankfully. The staff were very responsive and also very kind and accommodating. It’s all around a very nice, very fancy hotel.
Everything. We came here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. We think it is the best Hotel in Montreux after spending 7nights looking around the area .
The Hotel was spotless as was the grounds .
The view from our room was jawdropping.
The staff were so friendly and helpful.
The room was well stocked with toiletries and the double bed was nice and spacious. We had a lovely, large window which provided a view over Montreux. The wall images were a bit weird but Tralala is generally a quirky hotel. The bar/resto is open until 23h and the staff was helpful and kind.
Comfortable bed. Very nice soap and shower gel supplied. Air conditioning in room. Use of spa and pool in the royal palace hotel but this is on the other side of the road. Reception gave us travel tickets to use on bus and train. Very helpful. Only a five minute drive to Montreux.
Excellent hotel, centrally located, close and easy access from the train station. Large rooms and exceptional view of the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially David who very kindly accommodated to my early start and offered an earlier breakfast. Highly recommend.
Amazing views all around the property of Geneva Lake, the mountains and Swiss Riviera. Very attentive and friendly staff who helped make our stay so enjoyable including a private wine tasting in Lavaux with a vineyard that has supplied the hotel for years.
I stayed on the 16th floor so the views of the lake below were amazing. The hotel is very well located right in the centre of Montreux. The staff are very friendly and I liked the added touch of free snacks and drinks (apple juice and water).
One of the most cleanest hotels I have ever been. Very kind receptionists and excellent location. There is a direct access from the train station Montreux Platform 1. Wonderful place, I will definitely come back.
Hotel close to Montreux Jazz Festival and hence close to the lake. Although our view from the ground floor was nonexistent. Staff at the reception was superb friendly and the rooms are decent.
Incredible hotel. Everyone was so hospitable and welcoming. We came with our 2 year old son who was so spoilt (in the best way!). A great hotel for a luxurious stay in Montreux.
