I've stayed in The Hope Anchor 3 times and will definitely stay there again. The rooms are comfortable, with the right degree of Rye quirkiness, the staff are friendly and it's a great breakfast.

Perfect location, good breakfast and lovely terrace with beautiful view. Also quite unique to have enough parking space directly behind the premises.

Evening meals were good value for money and Andy was really efficient in both running the reception, serving behind the bar and waiting tables. He is a treasure!
Breakfast was served very efficiently and included the full English - tasy and efficiently cooked and served by the one young lady.

Really quaint. Lovely room. Friendly staff.
Other reviews say it is tired, but I stay in hotels every week and found this to be lovely and clean. It is an old property but the wi- for was excellent and the bath amazing!

I did not realise that Rye Harbour was a 2 mile walk from the town of Rye. Rye Harbour had limited facilities (one shop and two pubs) however the bus to Rye was fairly cheap and only took about 7 minutes to get to the centre of town. The area is beautiful for walks, exploring and getting outside in nature. The discovery centre and cafe on the walk through the nature reserve was really nice with great information about the area. The local churchyard has a magnificent memorial to the young men who lost their lives during a terrible ship wreck/sea rescue. If your looking for a peaceful break in beautiful surroundings then I would highly recommend for a few days. Families with young children might find the lack of facilities is an issue but Camber Sands is a short drive away if your looking for the traditional seaside experience.
