Lovely spot, easy to walk to from the port (like most of the town it is on a bit of a hill). The highlight is certainly the gorgeous pool. The staff were very helpful and relaxed and put you at ease. Easy to reach a couple of supermarkets.

Beautiful aesthetic and Anastasia and her daughter and son were lovely and super helpful.
They made an additional effort with my dietary wishes and the breakfasts were lovely in general.
Overall a calming atmosphere and what we needed

Great atmosphere, great for families; great value for money
I like Gavrio because it peaceful and still near the port.
I like Gavrio because it peaceful and still near the port. There is enough shops and restaurant and beaches near. But for better experiences you need a car or moto. Andros is very big island with different things to see. Its not only about beaches there are nice villages too and interesting old town and even waterfalls in the mountain. Also for walkers lot of good signed paths.

Not busy, but with enough to do when you don't feel like going anywhere else. The port is there which makes arrival and departure days stress-free, and also 5 minutes drive from the best beaches on the island.

I went with my boyfriend of a week and our stay at Gavrion was incredible. The locals are very friendly and the food delicious. The food may be expensive in some restaurants, you need to know where to search. The locals there helped us a lot Finding the best restaurant for price and quality of food, which was "Pame Vaggeli".
Everything in Gavrion is near to each other, which means you can explore the region on foot. However, if you don't own a car, the ticket for the local bus is 5€ per person to explore the whole island and the city of Andros. Also the souvenirs in the city are expensive so I advice to shop in Gavrion where they are cheaper.

Pleasant little harbour village where all the ferries come...
Pleasant little harbour village where all the ferries come in. Good selection of tavernas, cafes and shops. The village beach itself is nothing great, but there is a choice of excellent sandy beaches within a 20 - 30 minute walk. Buses to Batsi and Andros Town - the largest towns on the island - leave from beside the ferry quay at times tied into ferry arrivals and departures. I stayed in Gavrion for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It's fairly quiet but the people are friendly and it's convenient for onward travel.

Andros is a friendly, low key island in the Cyclades.
Andros is a friendly, low key island in the Cyclades. The islanders are welcoming and helpful. We didn't need to hire a car as we could get to many places by bus. If you like Sifnos and other quiet islands pay Andros a visit. We stayed in Gavrion but might stay in Batsi next time. Staying in Gavrion meant easy access to the port.
right in the heart of gavrion with a balcony to people & boat watch! a spacious studio which felt really comfortable with a big double bed, quiet when windows shut, good kitchen amenities. Dimitri is a really nice guy. we spent some time chatting with him over some raki. a great base to explore island. car hire from him too - colours. plenty of food options a few minutes away.
The location of the apartment ist wonderful, apart from the personal beach which is 2 minutes away, you can reach other beaches and the port of Gavrio very quickly. The view from the terrace is just stunning. You can basically use the terrace as a living room and stay outside the whole day as there is always some kind of shadow available, if it gets too hot.
OK for an overnight stay. Reception was kind enough to give me a better room than booked, with excellent view, which I appreciated. Excellent breakfast ( liked the fresh mushrooms sauteed w feta).
Hotel is a bit dated overall ( think 70s room amenities and decor-bathroom shower needs serious attention) but still comfortable, and pleasant.
This is a wonderful place to stay on a cliff above the sea. You see it as the ferry arrives in Gavrio and it’s an easy 10min walk from the port (up a steep hill). The room is beautiful. The view gorgeous. The owner friendly. It’s really the perfect place to get to know a fascinating island.
Perfect hotel in a quiet area of Andros 10 minutes to the port, 20 minutes to Batsi and less than an hour to Andros old town. There was a nice Taverna next door and an even better one 5 minutes up the road. The hotel was gorgeous, the pool was perfect and the management was extremely kind.
I liked location. Its so near the port you can come here by foot. The hotel is beautiful and with nice pool area. I liked the stone in the buildings and green surroundings. It is also very near good beaches and restaurant and shops. We had sea view from the balcony.
The best part of the hotel were the staff! They were all so kind, welcoming, and went above and beyond to help us in every way! A definite must stay, and we would definitely return to this wonderful hotel again! If you go, say hello to their cute dog Fidel!
Very welcoming staff. The room was very clean and the location was perfect close to the best beaches and not far from the part. Plus the hotel has a nice view. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a simple hotel with a convenient location.
The Galaxy overlooks the picturesque port of Gavrio and is very close to restaurants, cafes and shops as you while away the time waiting for the next ferry, or if you arrive late on Andros. The beds are very comfortable.
Ok, so this is not a luxury hotel, but it is a great value: clean, convenient to the port (7minute walk), huge pool, and friendly family owners. If you have an early or late ferry in Andros it’s definitely worthwhile.
