I prefer the south of the Lake and Peschiera has good accessible links with car, bus and train routes to further afield as well as boat excursions on the water. The town itself has most of the assets to provide a memorable vacation.

The town is entirely aimed at tourists and, as a result, while there are many decent restaurants, there are very few typical Italian trattorie and, unless you have a car, food shopping opportunities are limited. On a more positive note there are regular boats to other towns around the lake and Verona is only a fifteen minute train ride away. For those who like themeparks, Peschiera is very close to Gardaland (Italy's equivalent to Alton Towers)

Oriana and her family were just lovely and spoke English...
Oriana and her family were just lovely and spoke English well enough to direct us on our short walk into town and call us taxis when required. They also helped out with a 2 pin plug for our mobiles which we forgot to bring, relief!! Orina helped out with Gardaland opening times and anything else we needed during our stay. The location was perfect , near the railway station, where you can also catch buses, and 10 mins into the town centre. Loads ristorantes around, we really enjoyed ourselves and gratefully for us Scots, the room had efficient air con. Lots of room, clean and modern.
