We stayed in the premium king room and it lived up the expectation. Was super comfortable and modern. Very clean. The view was just like the photos if not better. The room had good features like - lights that come on when you need to get up in the night so you can see where you are going, charging ports right beside the bed, heaps of room for your luggage.

We did a 19 day road trip around the lower North Island, and Mount Cook Village was my favourite place to stay. Id love to go back again some time. Sadly for us due to being delayed due to issues with the interislander we only got to stay here for one night. We took an amazing scenic flight and landed on the Tasman glacier. We had the perfect day for it. The smorgasbord restaurant at the Hermitage was fantastic, one of the better smorgasbord's Ive had. I would love to come back here some day and do some of the shorter walks around the area and just to experience this majestic place once more.

Being able to see the glacier from the top part of the village. Our fantastic day trip to Lake Tasman to get close to icebergs and and the glacier at one end of the lake. (not the glacier seen from the village).

The village is located in an amazing place.
The village is located in an amazing place. If are self catering while in the village you will need to bring your supplies with you. There is very limited grocery items for sale.
There is a cafe and restaurant located in the Hermitage complex. The other dining places are closed.

There is limited accommodation at Mount Cook village and it is all expensive. There are many well marked and maintained paths from the road end which allow walks off between one hour and six hours to be safely undertaken. There are no shops or independent restaurants or food outlets, unless you are self catering, you will have to eat in the expensive hotels. The most economical way to visit would be by Campervan bringing all of your supplies with you The self catering options are limited to the motel, which is in my opinion, overpriced for the accommodation it offers.

I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around.
I did not like Mt Cook Village at all. Hard to get around. Nowhere to buy food or snacks and restaurant closed during the day. Inflated prices. I think our experience would have been much better but unfortunately the weather was dreadful and hence we had no views and were unable to do our planned walk. All in all it was a very disappointing experience.

incredible location right in the centre of mount cook village. there’s a very well equipped kitchen in the common dining room (people were cooking fish and mussels, BBQing steak on the patio, drinking wine from provided glasses). excellent view of mount cook from the dining room.
rooms were clean and comfortable but rather basic and cramped for the price.
The room was on the ground floor. The common kitchen and lounge was amazing with plenty of room for multiple people preparing and eating meals. The lounge faced Aoraki and when it was clear, the view was breathtaking. Being close to the trailheads deep in the valley was fantastic. The bathroom was cozy but had a wonderful shower.
We had an amazing view, a full kitchen, a bedroom, a table by the sliding door, a couch, all was clean. this was the family unit of the mount cook lodge and motel. Not to be confused with the heritage hotel, which is more of a high-rise. Lots of hiking trails nearby, there is the wonderful glacier explorer cruise, which we loved.
The location and views of Mt Cook are spectacular. Easy to walk around the hotel and grounds and access to walking trails etc. The location makes this a hidden gem of a destination. Staff were working around the clock on skeleton roster from what we could see and they were all exceptionally hospitable and friendly.
Location, walking distance to beautiful visitor center and short drive to trail heads. Walking distance to restaurants.Community Room was large with lots of kitchen appliances, kitchen items, lots of tables, chairs and lounge area. Deck with tables, chairs and two grills. On a clear day excellent views of Mt Cook.
Stunning views, good sized rooms. Very helpful and engaging staff, especially reception and restaurants.
Stargazing activity excellent.
Panorama Restaurant food and service very good.
Bircher muesli was lovely. One of the catering staff was super enthusiastic about the honey, which was indeed delicious.
Amazing location, stunning mountain view from the room and restaurants. Staff were very helpful and welcoming! They even organized birthday card for me and complementary bubbles and chocolate!! We absolutely loved our time at Hermitage Hotel and Mt Cook village! One of the best places in New Zealand!
In Mount Cook village are no possibilities to go out at night. This is why everyone in the hostel is gathering in the community areas and as a solo traveller you get easily in touch with other travellers.
Very clean, very well equipped. Even offer blankets in case you get cold.
The unit was light and airy inside.
The buffet dinner at the hotel was excellent with excellent service and good value while the casual meal in the cafe was overpriced and not up to standard for what was served.
The unit servicing staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Great view for the rooms looking toward mountains.
The shower was nice, modern and large.
The three course dinner at the main hotel (Hermitage) was outstanding! Views from the bar before dinner was also unbeatable on a clear day
Beautiful mountain views. Parking is convenient. A short drive or walk away to a hotel restaurant, and scenic walks in the Mount Cook area. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Room is very comfortable, fully equipped and clean.
The location of the property in Mount Cook village is a convenient starting point for exploring the region and Hooker valley track. The view is amazing. The amenities are basic but comfortable. Do bring your own toiletries
The hotel offered excellent view of the Mount Cook. The room was soundproof which suitable for rest. The mattress was soft and comfortable. Dinner was excellent with fresh and plenty of choices.
