Boasting many national treasures, Washington DC is the US capital and home to the world’s most iconic presidential building – The White House. Most visitors start at the National Mall, a huge park stretching from the Potomac River to the Capitol Building. It also encompasses the Washington Monument obelisk and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, of particular significance in US civil rights, commemorated by the latest addition - the Martin Luther King Memorial.
Also here are 11 of the city’s 17 incredible Smithsonian museums, including the unmissable National Museum of American History.
If all this gets too much, wander around Georgetown’s Colonial buildings and take a break in one of the student cafés. Many world cuisines are represented in Washington DC and the city also has its fair share of live music venues, with a surprisingly good jazz scene. The National Symphony Orchestra is based here and the Kennedy Center hosts a range of productions.
DC’s planning policy means there are no skyscrapers, so if you fly into Washingon Dulles Airport over the city, you see its white buildings standing proud. The city is also served by Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport and Washington National Airport. All are quite a way out, so leave plenty of time to get there from your hotel, apartment or guest house booked through Booking.com.

This city is beautiful, well organised, clean, safe, full of history and kind people. It is a traveler friendly city. I would like to come again. My recommendations - take Hop on-hop off bus for 2 days to explore the city at full. Do not forget to visit Georgetown.

Easy to use the Metro.
Easy to use the Metro. Good museums but some were very 'techie'. Be prepared to be re-routed by security around the White House. Public restroom at Washington Monument was disgusting facility & degrading to use as doors were hanging off. Its a working city and not geared up for visitors. Expensive to eat. An under welming experience rather disappointed.

So much to do here.
So much to do here. Great museums, monuments, and activities. See the Capitol building, the Washington, Lincoln, MLK, Jefferson and WWII Memorials (and more). Be prepared to do some walking.
If you're visiting the National Mall and the Smithsonian group of museums, be sure to get (free) reservations in advance.
Consider packing a sandwich or snacks, their are many food trucks, but not good quality and of course very expensive.
Great metro system throughout the city, be sure to take advantage of this affordable and easy to use transit system.
There are several urban self guided neighborhood "Heritage" walks in some of the neighborhoods. A good way to learn more about the culture and history of the people and city. https://eventsdc.com/dc-neighborhood-heritage-trails

Washington DC is an amazing city, this was my 5th time to be in DC but on this trip I think I explored more than I usually do. And I would say that it’s a beautiful place to visit with a lot of museums and activities around, I would suggest to have enough time for whoever wants to visit. There’s more things to see and enjoy.

The more we learned about the Washington DC transportation...
The more we learned about the Washington DC transportation system the better we liked it. at the moment, seniors are riding free on the bus system. That was a huge plus. The regular buses connect to areas where circulator buses travel. The circulator buses make loops around some of the more important and often visited sites. We enjoyed talking with people on the street and found that they were very helpful with finding the right bus and sharing routes that would get us to where we wanted to go. Brace yourself for high prices. it seemed that every meal whether in a restaurant or in a cafeteria cost at least $25 per person, and often more, even a simple meal.
This is a beautiful hotel in a very good part of DC, full of interesting houses and buildings, shops, restaurants, and even a world-class art gallery in walking distance. The building is old, but completely to date inside. Our compact but nicely done corner room had windows on two sides, and we could see over the building next door. The hotel restaurant was excellent, the minibar well stocked, and the bathroom had real tile instead of modern cheap materials.
The location is great. It’s pricey for what you get, but relative to other hotels in the same area, it’s still much cheaper. If it wasn’t in this location, you probably wouldn’t stay here. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I like the architecture of the building. The rooms tend to be small, but I actually like that. The showers are nice. I don't know if rooms have tubs. I’ve stayed here a couple of times and would do so again.
Great price for a clean hotel room in centre of Washington. Location was ideal for me, just a 15 min walk from convention centre. Room was comfortable with bed, sofa and large Roku controlled TV - ideal for looking up YouTube videos on what to do in Washington. Felt safe in room with good electronic locks on interior and exterior doors. Cold drinking water available from machine in hallway. Shower was fine with hot water.
This is my new favorite DC hotel. Its commitment to social justice and to being LGBTQ friendly feels real not like a marketing gimmick. It’s eclectic and comfortable but doesn’t feel cheap or shoddy. The staff are fantastic and seem genuinely happy to help. The location is way and safe and the rates are always reasonable. It’s not fancy but full functional for a work trip with decent work spaces in the larger study rooms
The location is excellent, there are several ways to easily get there, by car or metro. The room was very comfortable, the bed and pillows were the best. Even though the hotel is undergoing renovation, the cleanliness was impeccable. All staff, from reception to housekeeping, very friendly and polite. Without a doubt it will be a hotel to return when visiting Washington again.
Great location, near metro and buses, walking to the White House.the room is clean and comfortable. Coffee and tea available all day, the lounge room is spacious and functional. Good value for money. Stayed in the same hotel in Boston, very happy with it, so changed to club quarters hotel in Washington DC, very happy as well.
The hotel is old, but clean and maintained. Fridges in the basement and the first floor allow for food storing. The location is off the center (bus services are unreliable, but cheap walking works too), but the area itself is really nice. Very good restaurants in the area.
This is a self-service check in hotel, so use a code to enter. No thrills, not reception at hotel, but easy to do and very efficient. Appartement was well organized and with small kitchen and spacious. Great value for money, in the centre of Washington DC,
hotel was at a great location because we did not have a car, and the hotel is walking distance to the metro station.
the room was clean and quiet. this place was great value since it is one of the cheapest options around the area.
I got a fairly big room for a fairly cheap price. The location could not be beat and the hotel had the amenities you could expect. The staff were also friendly, and did their best. Even if I the hotel was somewhat understaffed.
The Best Churchill Hotel’s representative ~ Miss/Mrs Minetta (lady working at the reception desk) for her professional attitude towards guests and for acting as the best ambassador of the Churchill Hotel in Washington DC.
The entire staff was friendly and helpful to take care of all of our needs. The room was comfortable and clean. The loyalty lounge served delicious food. The location near Metro Center was convenient. All was excellent!
Near metro, good eating places nearby, pool, gym and laundry. Laundry is $3 per load, per dryer, per detergent so about $9! You can buy you own detergent, which is what we did as we had many loads.
Staff was very friendly. The hotel was cheap compared to others listed in the area at the time and surprisingly had really good rooms, gym and breakfast.
