The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the food was so so great, real home made meals, loved the food, and the help yourself bar was very cool, we did not take anything but the idea is something different which I have never seen in South Africa before. We did enjoy our stay very much and was happy to have been there and experience it.

It was a good stay, the roads are well constructed but have lots of speeding cameras and the best part of everything is that there are big supermarket retails nearby all the b&b, hotels and guest houses. The likes of spar, pick and pay and checkers

The location, tranquility, and layout of the facility are awesome. The staff are respectful and friendly in response to you. The hotel is nicely tucked away while at the same time close to shops and activities of interest. The only concern is the potholes in the surrounding roads, but that is true throughout the area.

The view from God’s Window is breathtaking. The accommodation and access to it leaves a lot to be desired. I would definitely visit White River again but I will be giving the accommodation I booked a hard pass.

Is white River under-rated...for sure!
Is white River under-rated...for sure! I spent a week there and really I could have spent more time. It is such a beautiful city with breathtaking views. So safe!! Cleanliness is visibly noticeable on all streets and areas. Places I visited:
1. Casterbridge Centre which has Sabie Valley Coffee(Yes! however 50 metres away at Bagdad centre is Kings Coffee which i believe is of the highest quality of coffee and cheap, delicious food. Sabie valley coffee is overpriced! Casterbridge has many curio arts and craft places, car museums, Belgian chocolate store, mexican restaurant and greek restaurant.
2. Another 50 metres away at the next exit of the round about is a small little food place called Route 40. Delicious curries.
3. Drove to Sudwala Caves, Dinosaur Park and Butterfly park all on the same site as Sudwala Caves. So you can spend a half a day on those activities.
4. Spent a day at a quaint, beautiful town called Kaapschehoop. Boy was this a treat. We did the hike, ate yummy food at the local restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed this untouched beauty!
5. Drove early one morning to the Numbi gate, got there by 6am and enjoyed a full 12 hours driving in the Kruger National Park. Spotted many, many animals. A well worth trip.
What an amazing stay at White River and a perfect base location central to all the activites we planned.
Location is about halfway between Hazyview and White River, its a remote setting which as we had a hire car was perfect. Overlooking the reservoir of da gama dam, views are lovely. Set in what used to be a resort which appears to have closed and individual places sold off it was secure and quiet. The lodge was clean and had basics we needed including a gas hob and oven for cooking along with a washing machine. It was a perfect base to get to and from Phabeni Gate (Kruger) and the restaurants at Hazy View.
The very quiet location does it for my beautiful peaceful sleep surrounded by virgin land that breathes fresh air to the location. The rooms are large and so are the bathrooms. I enjoyed the verandah especially for a morning chill with a cup of coffee. The WiFi is great and the breakfast was amazing. The kitchen staff were very friendly. I admired the swimming pool and wished I had brought my swim suit as the pool was sparkling clean. Destiny lodge is a great place to be👌🏻
Secure location, the lodge is inside an estate. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well kept. We loved everything about the property. The network is good I was on video calls the whole time and no signal problems, didn’t connect to their wifi so I’m not sure about the speed or connection.
Self catering facilities in a perfectly quiet and restful enviroment. We had access to a swimming pool. when we arrived it was hot and humid, air-conditioners worked flawlessly. The bedroom on the second floor had an outside shower which was welcoming as you could look at the scenery while doing your ablutions.
The view from the cottage is beautiful, the cottage is well equipped for self catering, even though we had breakfast.
The cottage is spacious and well equipped.
They even have a honest bar where we got a good bottle of red wine at a reasonable price.
We enjoyed the pool and the swing on the rocks.
This was our third time coming here with my partner and it always exceeds our expectations from a comfort level and of course the staff always so warm and welcoming..
Our room was upgraded to a bigger suite and had all the self catering amenities , truly a home away from home for us ♥️
It was the perfect stay. The location is perfect, the property was spotless, the property has everything you need for the perfect stay (and a number of nice unexpected touches) and finally the hosts are fantastic - the perfect location for your trip to White River or Mbombela.
Check in was only at 14H00. We arrived at 10h00 and the owners had no problem with us the leaving the luggage at reception. They were very friendly. The unit is very nice and coffee, tea, mild and sugar are provided although it is a self catering unit.
The tranquility of the area. Peaceful no noise, just you and nature. The sunrise was amazing. This place comes highly recommended and anyone who's planning to visit white river and the Kruger national park please use this facility- you won't be sorry
Beautiful quiet location, well maintained with exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff. Felt like home away from home, loved the outdoor Braai facilities , will definitely recommend the lodge to others. White river is a beautiful town 👍🏻
Susann, the host, is very friendly and accommodating. The room had everything I needed, and they are prepared for loadshedding. Breakfast was delicious. This is my second time staying here, and will be my go to when visiting White River.
Oliver's is a small slice of calm and attention to detail. It's a welcome reprieve from the decaying and llitter strewn streets of White River and surrounds. We would highly recommend the food and very warm hospitality
The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The property is located in a fantastic natural location with access to the white river, a very tranquil place with lots of natural things to enjoy
Good place, environment and the viewing we as top of the range. I loved everything about Noma-nini lodge. I'd like to visit again for another good vacation 👌
