Calm and tasteful interior, woody scent, quiet, beautiful outdoor garden. Lovely spacious room with open bath, comfortable bed, relaxing atmosphere, fun teaware to play with. Breakfast was beautiful and plentiful. Kaiseki dinner of the inhouse restaurant was also delicious and well presented.

The breakfast was delicious especially the scrambled eggs. I was also very happy that the kitchen could cater to vegetarians. The staff were very attentive and couldn't have done more. The room was also great, nice bath and comfortable bed. Everything I needed was there. I can't wait to visit again.

Cleanliness: Super clean and designed well. Top floor is guest house and couple lives downstairs. 4. Great view: Overlooks temple out the window and transitional Japanese homes.

Its aesthetic was amazing, combining traditional and modern interior design. The room was super clean and comfortable. The stuff was polite and helpful. The location was very convenient for sightseeing at Gion and Northern Higashiyama. Even if it’s not central, it offers a free shuttle bus hourly to Kyoto station that we used everyday. We’d definitely choose this hotel again in the future.
