Probably the best hotel/hostel I have ever stayed at, and certainly in Kyrgyzstan! I stayed here probably about 7 days over the course of ~2 weeks before and after doing some treks. Ana and her team are super friendly, accommodating and treat you like family! Each individual room has a unique design and furniture, and everything works really well! Super clean and overall just a relaxing stay for once you are out of the mountains. The Wi-Fi is super fast, hot water showers, and although I stayed in a room with a private bathroom, there are plenty of toilets and showers throughout the property. The restaurant has a selection of really good western food and local food as well. Each time I would return from a trek I would order a burger and coke! Highly recommended. In addition to the ample seating in the cafe, there’s a really nice garden/courtyard area with plenty of places to chill. In the summer on sundays they host a local culture/entertainment show! Pretty cool Lastly all the staff were really helpful in planning treks and logistics (shoutout Artem!) and they even have a guide book that shows you the different options/marshrutka routes and approximate costs to get places. There’s a grocery store right across the street, and is also a marshrutka stop for the Ala kul hike.

While the location is slightly outside of the main part of town, I thought the experience was 100% worth it. The owners have created a magical oasis at Happy Nomad, with comfortable accommodations, tasty food, and a charming setting. The family is absolutely adorable! Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay in our yurt! The staff were extremely nice and helpful, the bathrooms were kept quite clean, and our yurt was nice and cozy. The complementary breakfast was lovely and exceeded our expectations. We were sad to leave!

The food is amazing ( try the glorious beef strogonov) and the staff do their very best to make you love the place. They have a very informative folder with local attractions and hints on how to get around the area. This is absolutely THE place to stay on Karakol.
