This place was a dream. Wish we could live there! Hideaway was quiet, and still right near shopping, dining, and excursions. Our hosts were a remarkable, friendly couple. They were the owners and obviously took great pride in their lodging . We stayed in their "studio", which was very roomy and comfortable, with every convenience available. Large, modern bathroom, cooking facilities, a barbeque and picnic table right outside our door, and a hot tub available to us. Our favorite place we stayed in our 3-week New Zealand trip!

The alpacas and other friendly animals are sooooo lovely. We were lucky enough to see the Milky Way during the night, and the sunrise in the early morning. Lucy and Paddy are the best hosts anyone can ever wish for, they were extremely kind to us, even showed us around their amazing farm. The house has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, and it's located in a peaceful and beautiful environment. We definitely recommend it, and hope to come back some day. Thank you again Lucy and Paddy for such a great stay!

It was very quiet and peaceful and the hosts were lovely to interact with. We were able to park our car in the back yard right in front of the cottage. The amenities inside were good. Very tidy and clean, modern cabin and bathroom. Nice comfy bed and quality linen, pillows etc. Complimentary milk, tea, coffee. All on solar power. Only 5mins either way to Karangahake Walks or Waihi township.
