Located in Udawalawe, within 11 km of Udawalawe National Park, Makulu Safari Camping is an accommodation offering river views. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property offers a shuttle service and features a garden and outdoor fireplace. It was a real experience, sleeping in a glamping tent, listening to nature. You can see they really make an effort and are super nice. We were there with kids, and they loved running around, playing with coconuts, going on a river in a canoe, night walk, and the highlight was the bonefire with great dinner. They also arranged morning safari, which was great. Our tent was completely new, which was perfect. But keep in mind, this is still a tent so don't expect a hotel room.

The on-site Rose Restaurant serves Western, Chinese and Sri Lankan food. It was really nice stay! We stayed one night in the cottage and second night in the tent. We really enjoyed it! Restaurant staff were super nice and friendly! We also did safari tour with Santha - he was amazing driver and the best guide. He has really good eyes so we were lucky and saw lots of animals. International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. Everything was amazing! we spent a day next to the pool and then had a great dinner by the river. The tent was very thought through, with comfortable beds and mosquitos net. The staff was lovely and very professional! highly highly recommend:) oh, and the fresh papaya juice on check in was a great touch.

Free private parking is available on site. This was one of the most peaceful, lovely experiences during my trip around Sri Lanka. The tents were well equipped, spacious, and comfortable and made for a peaceful nights sleep. Madu the manager was so kind and helpful! The service and food was excellent- homemade traditional sri lankan food in big portions. We had a lovely time wandering around and going for a swim in the river with the friendly dog Lola. We would like to thank Madu and everyone at the property for their hospitality. We will definitely be coming again! Great glamping experience.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property. The place was really awesome. We had a great time with family.
