Situated 37 km from Stykkishólmur, Drangar Country Guesthouse is located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and features a shared lounge. Even though it had been three years since my last visit I was welcomed like a friend who visits regularly. Leana and Knútur make you feel right at home and are great to have a chat with. After staying in a few hotels, the personal approach was a nice change of pace. You'll leave the next morning with a full belly after a great breakfast and some extra info about the region, farm and wildlife. The guesthouse itself is located by the water and is incredibly peacefull. You can sit by the ocean and hear nothing but birds and the water. The rooms look brand new, everything is spotless, not a single remark to be made. I'll be looking to return for a third time, and Drangar has become a staple for me on any future Iceland Trip.

This was our favorite place by far of our entire trip. The living room was spacious and we had a beautiful direct view of kirkjufell. The couches and beds were so comfortable and the tv had cable which was a welcomed surprise. The kitchen was modern and we were able to cook a full meal. It was well stocked with things like oil and spices which you might not buy.

If you don‘t want to use the well-equipped kitchen, it is only a short ride into town with several good restaurants.

The Ring Road is a 30-minute drive away from Saudafell Guesthouse. The hosts were wonderful, breakfast was lovely and it was really nice to meet other travelers while we ate. A fantastic experience!
