The place is very clean, the hosts are polite, they have a good system where every night guests can socialize together. Beds are comfy, there are cabinets for each bed right next to you, the kitchen has a lot of equipment (eg rice cooker, toaster), and I appreciated the coffee every morning :)

Grozavesti and Regie student campuses are 1 km from Popcorn Hostel. The Bucharest Botanical Garden is 1.5 km from here. The nearest airport is Henri Coandă International Airport, 17 km from the property.

The landlord, who we fondly call Spiderman, was a proper diamond geezer, right there in the lobby when I rocked up. We had a chinwag, and Spiderman gave me a few tips about what to do in town - all top-notch advice, I tell you. I rolled in past the witching hour, using the info Spiderman had pinged me by email. Had to send over my passport before I got there, a must-do since it's a self-check-in, which is quite the bee's knees, no need for a reception or staff. I bunked in a room with 8 other chaps, and I'd read reviews about there being only one loo, now I get the picture. On the ground floor, where my room was, there was just the one bathroom, but upstairs there were 5 more. No signs on the walls though, no hint that you could pop up to another loo. The lass running the hostel was quick off the mark. I dropped her a message on WhatsApp to crank up the air con, and it was on in a jiffy. Everything's remote-controlled, the temperature was spot on, 26 degrees, while outside it was a scorching 37. It's a cracking hostel, with a friendly and lovely atmosphere. You could tell the others were having a whale of a time. But if I hadn't read the rules before I got there, I'd probably have been in a pickle, wouldn't have known what to do. The message I got right after booking made it clear as day - if you don't read before you check in, you lose your booking. So, read up, mates!

Plenty of bathrooms, which each have a shower, sink, toilet, and can be locked. The cleaning ladies are very thorough, efficient, and come daily. There is a place where you can take your laundry to have it washed and dried nearby.

Conveniently situated in the centre of Bucharest, 5 Stars High Hostel provides air-conditioned rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Featuring a bar, the hostel is close to several noted attractions, around 500 metres from Museum of Art Collections, 1.2 km from Romanian Athenaeum and 1.6 km from Gara de Nord Metro Station. The property is non-smoking and is located 1.4 km from Revolution Square.

Great staff/manager. Very nice and helpful and available 24 hours. Bar in the lobby which is open late or possibly even 24 hours. There were only a few bar customers the night I stayed but even it was crowded I wouldn’t have heard any sound in my very quiet room. I found easy street parking just a few steps away. Comfortable bed, good AC and Wi-Fi, nice functional bathroom. Pretty good location. A bit of a hike to the city center but there are many transportation options. Breakfast options are limited but it’s not bad and served quickly. Overall I liked the vibe and think it’s a good bargain for the price. I would happily stay here again.

Great location, friendly staff, a budget-friendly place to spend the night safely! Although my party and I had to leave early before the included breakfast, the lounge we were shown had many amenities available outside of breakfast hours. I'm also very grateful to the staff for holding onto some belongings that were accidentally left behind and returning them to me.

I really enjoyed my stay and recommend this hostel to all backpackers who want to explore Bucharest. Fernando and Carmen are great hosts: always ready to chat, always ready to advise guests on everything they need. The hostel is very well located (Inside the city center and close to the old town), Impeccable hygiene, it has a nice common area, a well furnished kitchen, The bed and pillow are probably the best I've had in hostels in which I have stayed. It has a different and very tasty Breakfast! Definitely the best hostel in town!
