I enjoyed my short time at Kotohira a lot and a huge reason for that was the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the guesthouse. The host (heart and soul of this traditional house in central location) is a bubbly and passionate traveller himself that has seen so many places in Japan and around the world. He is really interested in your own experiences while you travel in the region and he can give you a lot of recommendations. Even though this guest house is in the north of Shikoku, he provided me with travel and commuting advices for Hokkaido. And: I loved the traditional house in central but quiet location. My roomy female dormitory (for 2 people) was lovely decorated. It felt a bit like in a treasure museum. The bath facilities are modern and the kitchen is well equipped (free coffee). So, if you wanna stay in a friendly place where you can recharge travel energy and get freshly inspired, pick this guest house.

We came back late for check in but he waited for us patiently and even moved our baggage to our rooms before we arrived so we had everything settled as soon as we checked in Very comfortable stay, will be back if I visit Takamatsu again! Location was just a few mins walk from public transportation and other attractions.
