It was so calm and quiet, perfect space to wind down and especially during low season you get the ultimate perk of having basically no people at the beaches ;) Sofia the host was super friendly and helpful... couldn't have wished for a better place to stay. Nice kitchen and facilities! Just keep in mind that you have to do groceries etc in the centre, as there's only a small restaurant around (which is cheap and good though). And it's a different island than Madeira itself, not everyone may know this ;)

The hostel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. Everything was superb! The location is near the beach, with plenty of nive restaurants nearby. The rooms were big and full of natural light. The common space was well organized, and equipped.

The town of Machico with its golden beach is 10 km away and Madeira International Airport is a 15-minute drive. The property is pretty and clean with a large open terrace roof top, fully stocked kitchen and common area, and the room is nice too! It is a "remote access" style guest house as opposed to a "host on site" guest house, and the hosts (and surf instructor) are easy to contact online, friendly and accomodate their guests well!

The mixed dormitories are carefully decorated according to traditional local crafts and furnished with bunk beds. They offer access to shared bathroom facilities. Guests that wish to have more privacy may stay in double or twin rooms. Loved this place, very homely feel right in the heart of Funchal. The ladies who run the place were lovely and very helpful. Felt right at home as a 23 year old solo traveller. Definitely will return in the future.

Dorm rooms have lockers, individual reading lights and access to shared bathroom facilities. Extra bed is necessary to request to the Hostel. Staff were great, location was central, beautiful building! It is right on Rua Santa Maria with lots of restaurants so there is noise, but it's a hum of talking / music so not too difficult to sleep through

We stayed in a private room and it was beautiful, clean and spacious and also, very quiet at night so we slept peacefully! Great, central location on a quiet street. Also the breakfast was incredible. The best we had in Madeira and one of the best we've had anywhere!! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Madeira! The staff were super friendly and helpful too. Thanks Jaca Hostel team for taking such good care of us!
