This is a must see. We always enjoyed our time here.
This is a must see. We always enjoyed our time here. They have lockers for rent on the first floor if you have bags. It's always a treat to sit in the cafe and have tea and cake after walking around the exhibits. A favorite NZ museum.

Te Papa Museum is an amazing place.
Te Papa Museum is an amazing place. The history and preservation of the past are so well done. The Gallipoli museum display is unique and confronting with larger-than-life figures done in such a way that they look life-like. It does exemplify the stupidity of war!
Preservation of Maori art and culture is also clearly and respectfully displayed and is well worth seeing. This museum was the real attraction of coming to Wellington for us and it surpassed our expectations.

If you only have the day, then Te Papa is where to spend it.
If you only have the day, then Te Papa is where to spend it. The WW1 exhibit is breathtaking, and they have used the time it was closed to improve a lot of the areas. Even if you've been here many times, it is always worth a see.

Absolute must for any visit to Wellington.
Absolute must for any visit to Wellington. Full of great historical exhibits about the Maori people and culture, and about the history and lifestyles of the European settlers, even though the way they developed the country must now be regarded as questionable.
There are also frequent special exhibitions which are always unmissable.

Te Papa is incredible - to have a museum such as this on our doorstep for free is amazing. I take our kids (now 9 and 6) on a regular basis and they love it every time, always have since they were toddlers.
Such a great range of exhibits and ever changing/updating too. They often have shows on during school holidays as well. Love this place.

Bed was extremely comfortable. Travelodge hotel is perfectly situated to walk and explore Wellington Botanical Gardens (accessed via cable car) Te Papa Museum, and Wellington cathedral. Very handy to have a great restaurant on site
Close walking distance to eateries, bars, and a fish and chip store just down the street as is a nice cafe. 10 min walk to Te Papa Museum, 5 min walk to New World. The staff are super friendly. Good sized room and a good bathroom and kitchenette.
The location of this hotel is so good, it just doesn't get any better than this. Right in the middle of the cbd. Opposite the Cable Car, two steps away from shops, supermarket, cafes, restaurants etc. A short walk from the Te Papa museum and the train station.
Staff very friendly, room clean & comfortable. Good breakfast.
Highly recommend!
Well, it is a virtual hotel, so no staff or reception, you just let yourself in. However, the instructions provided were very clear and it was easy to get in and find our room. The hotel is in a great location, close to restaurants, bars and cafes. A short walk (one block) to the Te Papa Museum and water front too. A very comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchenette was very handy.
Great location very near to Te Papa museum, lovely staff and nice atmosphere in bar, with a fab breakfast. The room was lovely with fab views and very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was not included or available. Excellent location in Wellington for most activities such as Cable Car, Te Papa Museum, restaurants, and other activities.
We were in the best location of wellington for the Museum and the marvels mightiest hero convention. We were literally just down the stairs of our hotel for the convention place and a few steps from Te papa museum which is very practical. 😀😀😀
I like that the location was close to the bus stop which has a direct route from the airport. The hotel is close to many eateries in Wellington. The location is also walking distance to Te Papa Museum. I also like that that breakfast is provided with the room. They provided T2 tea leaves and Nespresso pods.
Location was a nice spot-on Tory Street, with a very short walk to the waterfront and Te Papa Museum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and had great Amenities
