Hotel in Arutanga
Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodation located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides. Cheran and her mum, were super hosts and managers of the Tai Roto Bay Resort. We were greeted at the airport with big smiles and beautiful personalities. Arriving at our beachfront villa took our breath away at the sight of the lagoon right out front. Welcome to Paradise. Villas was gorgeous, clean and bed super comfy with a yummy breakfast delivered daily and very private. Great local cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property. Amazing location on a fantastic part of the lagoon teaming with marine life. Great facilities that blended in with the environment. Riki and Mathias were brilliant hosts. Nothing was a bother and they were really helpful in sharing local knowledge. Boat trips with Mathias were incredible going to all the best snorkelling spots, visiting some of the motu and lunch was delectable.

Where do I even start… Nik is by far the best host we have ever had in all our years of travel! He checks in with you everyday to make sure you are having the best time possible. If you need anything- he says “leave it to me” and takes care of it all! He went above and beyond to help us find out important information when we ran into issues with our flights home. I can truly say that he is one of the kindest people you will ever meet, and we cannot thank him enough for making us feel like family! We were also lucky enough to be able to upgrade from the garden units to one of the beach front bungalows for 4 out of the 5 nights of our stay - which was fantastic! The amenities at Sunny Beach Lodge go on and on: Free airport transportation, free wifi, free toiletries, free use of kayaks and bicycles, and a laundry service! It is also located right next to a convenience/takeaway store, and a 24 hour store that sells food and alcohol a short walk away! I could go on and on about how great this place is - so please, do yourself a favour, and stay here when you find yourself in the paradise that is Aitutaki! You won’t regret it! Thank you again, Nik, and see you next time!

Don't go there expected flash shopping malls or high end markets, their not there. Hire scooters and explore the island and definitely go to a church service just to experience the singing and the welcoming nature of the locals. Snorkelling tours are a must and best experienced with the smaller operators eg Teking Lagoon Tours, Aitutaki Adventures etc
My favourite place was the water surrounding Aitutaki Lagoon and Spa. The water surrounding the complex was breathtaking. It was crystal clear with multiple colours of blue and green that looked like heaven against the surroundings. Getting around Aitutaki was great, we hired a scooter, which gave us the flexibility to dictate where we go and how long for. The fuel consumption was value for money along with the hire fees. One of the things we enjoyed, was our day trip with Bishop Cruises - swimming with the Giant Trevallies and walking and swimming on '"One foot Island'. Young couples can and will enjoy the privacy of the island, along with the safety of going out for a picnic or ride around the island on bike or by car. Having dinner at 'Pacific Resort": on sunset, was definitely a highlight of the trip. We also enjoyed the great food and service that was offered. Very romantic, smart casual and jaw dropping beautiful place.
We are a family of 4 adults . We hired 2 scooters and also push bikes Perfect for Aitutaki. The lagoon cruise is a must do , beautiful clear water and white sand . Aitutaki is perfect for a relaxing holiday in the sun reading or swimming
Aitutaki is very beautiful, especially if you want to escape the fast pace life of city living. People are friendly and so content with their way of life. The natural scenery is unrivalled across the world and I believe it is Heaven on Earth....
Aitutaki is a little paradise! The food was excellent so fresh, lots of fish & local fruits - veggies! We booked snorkelling trip with TEKING and were not disappointed, we even booked a second one. We did a deep sea fishing with Black Jack once again great choice. For our last night we booked dinner at Tamanu Beach with the local fire & dance show it was absolutely amazing, the food divine and the entertainment surreal! We usual had our casual dinner at the Boat Shed next to our hotel, it was always great.
A beautiful place, not destroyed by commercialism. If going there, it would be a loss not to go to Aitutaki, post cards cannot do this place justice - a special place.
Get out on the lagoon on a tour - we went with Aitutaki Adventures for a small group tour. The best snorkelling I've ever done. Great food at Blue Lagoon - pricey but worth it. Sometimes it was hard to get food between the standard lunch and dinner time as there were only a few places around where we stayed and they shut between. Take some snacks
Arutanga village is quite small. There is a superstore where grocery items can be purchased .Petrol can be purchased nearby ? at TNM store and also a cold beer and wine. Bubbles below is located near the port and is excellent for diving and whale watching .Ono is real character and will never forget our trip with him.We hired a scooter and found this an excellent way to get around Aitutaki. We went on a snorkelling tour with taking which was great. They let us snorkel with giant trevally, took us to a drop off with large clams and another with coral bombs and lots of fish ,gave us lunch on an island(white sand and palm trees.) and ended with a short stop and passport stamping at One Foot island.Kite surfing with Mike Lee was also another fantastic experience. With expert tuition from Craig and Svern and getting to spend a day on an ideally is island with lunch provided and a great group of people it was great value. They are doing some good work at the Aitutak marine research centre and is well worth investigating. Otu beach is beautiful.ohh the colour of the water is stunning. For eating Tamanou Beach Resort was very superb ,Tupunas was a fabulous atmosphere and food and Puffy's fish and chips and salad to takeaway was fantastic
We have been to Aitutaki before for a day trip from Rarotonga so this was our first time staying there and we absolutely loved it. The lagoon is truly magical to look at and the snorkeling is superb
Excellent Eco hotel clean tidy with pool close to boat shed bar and grill for dinner and close to koru cafe we took the Vaka cruise $125.00 from end of beach overall stay brilliant Highly recommend Aitutaki
The location is amazing, the room offer is really good and easy access to kayaks, bicycles etc- very self contained. The staff is friendly and try to give you the best experience, they all remember your name. The hotel is very quiet and tranquil and also located in a really good area of the lagoon. There’s a great local restaurant nearby and easy access to the main road for a bike ride. Aitutaki is beautiful and definitely worth the stay.
Right on the beach with a lovely sunset view. Great facilities in the kitchen and bathroom, which were new and very nicely done. This place is nicer than the photos might suggest. Great breakfast with extra care re our gluten free diet requirements. Lovely hammock on the beach in the shade. Truely wonderful hostess, even by Aitutaki standards.
Amuri
Kura was a great host! She met us at the airport & took us to their place. We loved the apartment-cabin, it was spacious & very well equipped with everything we needed! We loved Aitutaki. 😎👍
Loved the location and hotel in Aitutaki. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, always happy to see us and give advice. Beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel.
The cleanliness and promptness with their service and hospitality
Clean and tidy! Secluded and private.
The staff here are amazing. Made the trip extremely memorable and stress free. The property itself is summed up best with relaxing luxury.
The location is amazing right on the lagoon! The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful with answering any questions we had as well as helping with organising our stay. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, the cabins were spacious and clean, with the restaurant right on the water the sunsets were unbelievable. Ally greeted us at the airport and was very welcoming then and throughout our stay. We highly recommend Aitutaki Village!
Idyllic beachfront location with only 8 large detached chalets. Well equipped. Lovely breakfast provided by the pool. Very relaxed ambiance with so few guests - we were often the only people on the beach. Lagoon is shallow but OK for swimming with plentiful fish. Provision of bicycles, e-scooters and 2 electric golf carts make it easy to get around this small island.
I loved the view, the pool and how spacious it was
Excellent position and the accomodation was kind enough to check us in early
