This hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, a spa and free Wi-Fi. It is located at Sochagota Lake and just 3 km from the centre of Paipa. The view from the room was great. I could see Sochagota lake and enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The room was tidy and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful. The hotel offers a spa area but I didn't use it. However, it looked really nice.

This is one of the nicest hostels/hospedajes I have stayed in whilst travelling extensively in Colombia. Design is akin to what you’d expect to find in Scandinavia with lots of wood and lovely little touches. My room had a super comfy bed with crisp white sheets. The communal areas are lovely and the hosts welcoming. Central location, just around the corner from the basilica. The owners are also very welcoming to cyclists and understood the need for secure bike storage. I didn’t even have to ask. In short, don’t hesitate to book here. I wish there were more places like this in amazing Colombia.

The staff were excellent always very friendly and helpful. The lady on the frount desk along with the younger girl were extremely professional and kept everything in the hotel running beautifully. The breakfast was excellent, they made the best huevos peiricos I've come across on my trip in Colombia 😋 A great location only minutes walk to the bus terminal and town centre. Lovely common areas where u could sit and relax in the hotel, WiFi worked well and shower had good pressure 👍 would definitely stay again.

They even remember the food allergies of some of the people in our group and avoided those items. We really enjoyed the onsite spa facilities and the private jacuzzis in our suite. The live music in the evening was a nice bonus to enjoy a drink and meal on the terraza. The rooms were well appointed with luxury bath products and very comfortable bedding. We will definitely return to Hotel El Carmel.
