Helpful staff, beautiful location, tasty food, very safe filling, free use of kayaks... wish to spend there some more nights...

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. Everything 😊 It’s a little gem of a place in a paradise setting! Food is wonderful and you won’t go hungry that’s for sure. There’s plenty to do and it’s very affordable. The team (staff and owners) is super sweet and always there to help make your stay happy and easy. Thank you for such an amazing stay!!!

Set in Puerto Barrios, Hotel Posada Stella Maris offers 5-star accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Set in Izabal, 45 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Hotel La Casa Rosada has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Lívingston. Among the facilities at this property are room service and a tour desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Ismael is a gem, super helpful and friendly - he really cares about the people coming through his beautiful hotel right on the water, with a gorgeous pier with hammocks to chill in, tube rings to float in and a pier to jump off (if it's not hurricane season, that is). The staff are friendly and helpful, and even got my laundry done for me which was much needed. Drinks are reasonably priced and they have a happy hour. I tried some veggie curry which was beautiful, and the dorm bed I slept in was very comfy. Overall the place is really beautifully designed and maintained, and they offer a boat ride to Rio Dulce right of their dock, which is super convenient. There are small lockers in the dorm.

Hotel El Reformador features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Puerto Barrios. With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.

Nanajuana Río Dulce has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and bar in Río Dulce. Among the various facilities of this property are a shared lounge, a garden and barbecue facilities.... Staff were so friendly and helpful. Pool was refreshing- needs a paint but I believe this is about to happen. Room was simple but comfortable. Good shower with hot water. Beds were very comfy. Lovely calm atmosphere. Restaurant and pool look out over the river. Dinner at restaurant was a bit pricey but good quality. Feels safe with a security gate and a long driveway off the main road.

Located in the middle of the jungle, 3 km from Livingston Town Centre, Finca Tatin Hotel features an extensive garden, a furnished terrace and hammock area. I loved my stay there, amazing place in the middle of the jungle, great atmosphere! They take care of everything. The place has a restaurant and they offer a range of activities (kayak, waterfalls, beach…)
