We stayed in Heydalur in the last days of winter and it was perfect. This is an amazing place in the middle of an awesome Fjord. Our host was very nice, kind and made us feel very welcome. The dinner was fenomenal and the breakfast very good. In the morning we had a visit from a friendly fox... It was great experience.

Hotel Stafholt has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Borgarnes. At the hotel, all rooms are fitted with a wardrobe. The hotel is brand new and beautifully decorated. It is located in a central area with low tourism activity, which is suitable for an extended stay. We stayed a week. We wanted solitude with access to hikes, mountains, highlands, waterfalls and glaciers, and we got it. The breakfast was also delicious. The staff is very kind and accommodating. (We love your hospitality, Judith! And it was a pleasure to briefly meet the owner too!)

Our rental car with summer tires was slipped into road side due to the snowy and icy condition of the road in the morning, and I called the hotel (Maria) for help. The hotel quickly dispatched a gentleman (Birzir) over to pull us out back onto the road so we could continue our travel. A huge relief for us !! Also, very good breakfast and cozy room! a good stay in this hotel!! Will come back staying here another time (during warmer season)!!!
