This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The facilities are new and everything worked perfectly and was in good order. The breakfast was great, the staff was very helpful, and the location was convenient. The most amazing part was the room and the bed. This was by far the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever used in all of Africa. The pillow and bed were perfect and the shower was exceptional as well. The icing on the cake was free, fast wi-fi and in room entertainment included ondemand Netflix at no charge. I was super impressed and will stay here every time I come to Kisumu!

Offering a sun terrace with outdoor pool, Sovereign Hotel is located in Kisumu. The hotel is close to Lake Victoria and 700 metres away from the Kenya Wildlife Impala Park. The best Hotel in Kenya I stayed so far. Staff is very competent and incredibly friendly. Rooms are very spacy, have a nice taste of furniture and are well equipped with everything you need. Beds are very big and comfortable. The whole place has a cosy and laid-back vibe. Food in the resataurant is quite good, so is the breackfast. The area is quiet, but you can walk to the CBD in 10 minutes.

Very warm welcome with a cold towel on a hot day. Excellent lake and city views from the rooftop bar. Temperature aside, I really liked the room. It was bright with natural light and the bed was very comfortable. It's right in the centre of the city but somehow, it's still quite a calm environment within the hotel.
