Hotell Furusund features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Furusund. With a bar, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. This is the second time we come to the Furusund hotel and we are looking forward to coming back again. We have always done a lot of trips in almost all other European countries and we find that in Sweden, outside Stockholm, finding hotel choices of high standard is sadly very hard, they tend to be extremely overpriced, come linked with "experiences" that are mostly about drinking in well-decorated bar areas or sharing a spa with people who are drinking (drinking alcohol in the spa seems to be a highly valued activity) and we usually regret going. This is not the case here. This place is simple and beautiful. Elegant but no frills. Has everything you need (including a spa area if you are so inclined) in the nicest location. It is clean, the wifi works well, and it is overall a very relaxing experience. The best part is the food. Best breakfast ever, really pleasant. Last time we had dinner also (this time we were busy somewhere else) and I still remember it.

Skärgårdshotellet offers views of the Baltic Sea and the Stockholm archipelago, and is located less than 3 minutes’ drive from the Gotland ferry service. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi and parking. I like location, good breakfast, friendly stuff!

Siggesta Gård is located in the countryside of Värmdö and offers a sun terrace, parking, bookable sauna and hot tub. WiFi are free for guests. This hotel was perfect for our weekend retreat. While located in the beautiful countryside, it's still easy to reach from Stockholm center. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, and the bed was extra comfy! We especially loved the breakfast buffet made from local organic ingredients.

Set by a fortress from 1735, this waterfront hotel on Värmdö Island offers impressive views of Solöfjärden and the surrounding archipelago. We wanted a break from hard travel and are so glad we chose Fredriksborg. The rooms are very simple with a terrific outlook. The location is remarkable, on a hill above the deep water channel going in and out of Stockholm. The first time we saw a huge ship gliding by above eye level was a happy surprise. The dinner served at their restaurant was superb. But the best of all is the staff. They take great pride in the history of the location and its role in the defense of Stockholm in centuries past. Pontus (spelling ?) went out of his way to show us the property as well as to drive us to the ferry for the return to Stockholm. We were very appreciative.

This early 1900s property is in Nynäshamn, on Trehörningen Island. It offers spa treatments, panoramic sea views and fine dining. Stockholm city centre is just 45 minutes’ drive away. Lovely place on a lovely location with a stunning view over the ocean and nature. We have stayed here many times

Smådalarö Gård Hotell & Spa is a unique and all year-round destination with curated experiences for all senses. The amenities are lovely although pricey the food was good

Set in Stockholm’s beautiful archipelago, first-class hotel and conference centre Fågelbrohus offers a historic setting in Värmdölandet, just a 35 minute drive from the centre of Stockholm. Really nice outdoor pool and great that kids are not allowed in the evening shifts!. The food was also very good, and they serve a very complete breakfast. The staff was also very kind and helpful.

This hotel lies on Stockholm's archipelago coast, 200 metres from Saltsjöbaden Train Station. It offers free WiFi and private parking. The location never stopped surprising us. The artwork in the main building was an unexpected treat. The upstairs bar made me double check what we had actually paid for the stay because the decor and architecture was so luxurious - fit for a queen! The outdoor space with kayaks and bicycles were a lovely optional extra. There were deer in the forest and the sunsets (that last for hours in spring) over the water were incredible. The beds were lovely and floofy and the additional lounge area was wonderful to expand into after our smaller Stockholm hotels. The staff were also super chatty and gave us a lot of their time which we enjoyed immensely. There is also a parking lot outside where we could recharge our rental vehicle with an app to pay for the charge. We had a wonderful time and wish we had stayed there longer. We stayed for 2 nights, checked out and stayed for most of the day at the restaurant over looking the water and chatting.

This countryside hotel is on Värmdö Island, 25 minutes’ drive from Stockholm city centre. Guests can enjoy fine dining, free Wi-Fi and free private parking. The location is beautiful. Quiet, peaceful. Kayaks and swimming right there. Staff is amazing. Breakfast spread is wonderful. Restaurant for dinner has amazing dishes. There are hiking trails across the road. You can take the bus to town if you want to explore or go to a different restaurant.
