Located in Rubuguli, 27 miles from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Nshongi Camp provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The location was incredible!! Situated in the forest with foliage all around the room. It is a 3-5 minute walk to the Rushaga gorilla tracking starting point -- the closest of all the lodges. I chose this location because I didn't have a vehicle and it was perfect! The staff was lovely, especially Gloria and Moses who helped me with my unconventional trip logistics and were attentive and kind. The food was delicious. The view from my room was stunning with a gorgeous balcony facing the forest where I took my coffee. The room was airy and bright with natural light and the ensuite bathroom had hot water in the shower (just let the water run for 15 minutes -- it sounds like a long time but this is what I was advised to do and the water apparently comes from a well). Although the lodge is in the forest, there were no bugs or mosquitos in the room because the windows and doors are well sealed (I didn't even need to use the mosquito net). There is no cell signal nor wifi but this allows for a peaceful holiday "off the grid" and wifi is accessible at the restaurant of a nearby hotel (15 min walk) if needed, which is what I did. Excellent value - I will definitely be recommending Nshongi to others.

I liked everything about Motel Santaviva. The rooms are clean and large. The restaurant has a vast choice of good dishes. But most importantly, the staff is amazing! The manager Ivan is albsolutely fantastic, he was always there to accomodate any request. He is truly an amazing host who puts his soul into his job! You won't find any other hotel at this level in Kisoro. I had tried other hotels in the area and these were more expensive for way less services. I would absolutely recommend Motel Santaviva!

Providing garden views, Ntebeko Homestay in Kisoro features accommodations and a garden. Housed in a building dating back to 2019, this homestay is 0.9 miles from the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Great place to stay if you are discovering Mgahinga National Park. Right in the local village. The place was very clean, breaky was yummy. The food at the restaurant (which is about 1km away) was really delicious too. Emma (staff of accommodation) has helped us out so much. Directing us into the right direction of where to start our gorilla trekking. Helping with organazing the golden monkey trek. Helping when there was any problem at the accommodation itself. He took us on a walking tour around the village and we had a fun game of volleyball with him and his friends. He accompanied us everywhere we went. I can highly recommend this place. I would stay there again no doubt. Thank you Emma so much for everything.

The staff is remarkable. The community involvement is amazing. They go out of the way to help. The food was top notch. Room was good. Shower hot and strong. But really the people make this place.
