With original buildings dating back to 1756, the Karoo 1 Hotel is a restructured farm located in Touwsrivier. It offers elegant rooms and features a swimming pool and a restaurant. Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and beautiful surrounding scenery. We went in August when it was less busy and the staff opened up the restaurant for dinner and breakfast just for us. Food was good and well priced. Would have loved to take a dip in the pool if it wasn't winter :) The hotel is also far enough from the main road and has a gate so feels very safe and secluded.

The gardens are peaceful and the rooms were clean and decorated in an old Cape, vintage style. We stayed for two nights for a wedding in the area. Portia took excellent care of us. The breakfasts were exceptional. A comfortable bed. Lots of space in the room and an old fashioned tub for a soak. Checkin was easy, Portia was very helpful throughout our stay.

Offering a terrace and views of the mountains, PicardiPlace is situated on a working farm, near the quaint village of Rawsonville. We had a warm welcome from Jaco the owner, called us in the morning to ask if he can fire up the hot tub outside. Room was clean, comfortable, inviting and had a lot of charm. Additional effort to make it special. Definitely value for money. Beautiful location with awesome views. Thank you Jaco for your warm hospitality, we will see you again in future
