Located in Port Ellen, No. 1 Charlotte Street has a garden, shared lounge, bar, and free WiFi. The rooms in the hotel are fitted with a coffee machine. Fantastic cooked breakfast, you won’t be hungry when you leave the breakfast room! The location by the bay is very good, with a pub just next door and two restaurants not far.

My husband and I visited Islay to attend the Fèis Ìle 2023. We chose this property so we can also have the chance to experience local living. My husband and I are blown away by the beauty of the house and the serenity of the place. What made our stay exceptional was the warm welcome and hospitality extended to us by Jim and Caroline. Jim, who also operates a taxi service and private tours, all the more made it convenient for us to go around the island and visiting distilleries. Sharing his love for the island and knowledge about whisky further deepened our experience. We highly recommend their place and Jim’s transport services.

On Islay’s famous Whisky Coast, in the fishing village of Port Ellen, overlooking the harbour and marina and just 2 hours by ferry from Kennacraig on the Scottish mainland, The Islay Hotel offers a... I was moved to this Hotel as the other one I had booked was taken over - everything about the hotel exceeded my expectations from the decor of the whole place, size of the room, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and outstanding food!

Excellent accommodation, the online pictures made the room look ok but in reality it was excellent. My partner and i were very pleased with the stay and location. Would easily recommend.
