Bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve, Basecamp Masai Mara offers eco-friendly, luxury camping in the heart of the savannah. It was our second visit to Mara NP, but our first time sleeping within these grounds. Waking up with a river view and having zebras or hyenas or giraffes looking right across is mesmerising. The tent was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for three persons. Esmo was assigned to take care of us at meal times and he did a wonderful job. The meals were freshly prepared and very good. It was like a set menu and there was always a vegeterian option. The Masai also made us feel safe in the evening while escorting us.

With garden views, Greenwood safari camp is set in Talek and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace. Location was great just outside the park gate beside much pricier camps.
