The facilities were brilliant, especially the well stocked kitchen and the outdoor baths. It was such a peaceful, beautiful spot to unwind, watch and feed the ducks and swans. We really enjoyed sharing the delicious platter, which was perfect with a glass of local rose wine. All those additional treats like the home made biscuits made you feel like you were being looked after.

This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.... This was a wonderful experience. Rosie obviously knows how to receive guests and make them feel at home. Warm hearted, generous and a good sense of humour. A great balance of allowing privacy and offering social contact. The furnishings in Rosie's home are tasteful and create a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The Shepherd's Rest is situated on a farm, within a 10-minute drive from the centre of Oamaru. The adults-only property has mountain views. Quirky and fun from the gypsy caravan shaped cabin to the alpacas and sheep that greet you every morning. We loved our stay here and feeding the critters was a delight.
