The location is simply stunning. It was such a treat to be a hop skip and a jump from the clear water and golden sand! We got a flat tyre just before we got to the house, and Eamon was so lovely he sorted it out for us and then gave us a lend of their kayaks. The house was clean, had everything you needed, and we felt very warm welcomed.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The house was charming and just what we needed as the weather was dismal. The heating and the fire were were on for us when we arrived although we didn’t need to keep the heating on as the house was so cosy. There was a basket of food waiting in the kitchen and the facilities were excellent. We loved everything about this charming house.

The location was just outstanding, although you have to like isolation to enjoy this cottage. Fantastic views of the countryside and the mountains from the conservatory where we sat and ate our breakfast. Not 200 paces from the most amazing sandy beach which was normally deserted, and a great place to base yourselves for exploring the Fanad and Rosguill peninsulas which are outstandingly beautiful and yet not heavily visited by tourists. If you value solitude and isolation, this is the place for you - I have travelled the world and this is one of the top places I have ever stayed! The house was absolutely lovely in terms of decor and cleanliness and it was easy to feel comfortable there. Information for users was excellent and comprehensive, extra bedding was much appreciated for some cold nights! The only downside of the isolation is that it is a long drive to find a pub or a restaurant or supermarket. The only local facility (Fanad Lodge) is desperate! But travel a bit further afield, half an hour's drive, and there are some decent options. Use it as a base to visit Fanad Head, Rathmullen, Ramelton, Downings, Carrigart, Letterkenny etc.
