The best part of the property is the staff. Owner, Tyson welcomed me explained everything needed. A young lady working at the cafe (Diza, sorry if I mistaken the name)made me one of the best meals in Indonesia I’ve ever tried. Sweet dog and cat were also welcoming and slept under my room’s door at night.The room was simple but very clean with beautiful garden setting. The location is a little bit out of town, but walkable and very quiet. Tyson also organized a jungle trek for me and that was also very good. We saw 8 orangutans)

The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.

Jhony was a brilliant host and u ended up booking a two day one night jungle trek which was absolutely amazing, he is a very safe and responsible guide as he has been doing it for a long time. He took me to the spots to see the orangutans which was very special and we saw lots of other monkeys and animals as well. Yeh accommodation was very simple but for the price definitely worth it, couldn’t recommend more.

The location and staff is great. The room is large and clean and has a very nice balcony with a lot of space and a nice view. Bed is very comfortable. Wifi is fast and available everywhere in the room and balcony. Behind the bungalow is a very nice little quiet area where you can walk around.

Hilfbereites und freundliches Personal. Dschungeltrekks können direkt in der Unterkunft gebucht werden. Die Lage ist super und sehr zentral. Das eigene Restaurant war spitze. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

It’s right at the river and just a short walk from the “busy” part of the village. Rooms were clean and comfy. We also had a nice terrace with chairs and a hammock. Bathrooms were pretty spacious. The guest house has a nice garden and you can really emerge into the natural atmosphere. Sadly the Orang-Utans did not visit us at the guest house, but we were visited by some other curious monkeys.

Our trek into the jungle exceeded expectations: Not only did we see several orangutans and a huge variety of monkeys, but the lunch was refreshing and the guides were so friendly and informative. Another village tour was arranged at short notice and proved very interesting.

We even saw some orang-utans during breakfast in the morning! The food was great and everybody was extremely nice! We also strongly recommend doing the jungle trek, the village tour and/or the cooking class with Batu Kapal Guesthouse.
