David’s Homestay was perfect in every way. The room was spotless clean. The shower has a lot of pressure and it’s hot (the first real hot shower I had in Tanzania). The location is wonderful, close enough to walk to town, but far enough to feel like you’re in the forest. The meals were great, and they accommodated to my vegetarian requirements. And the best part, the hospitality. David reached out the second I made the reservation to check if I needed anything. And he was always worried from then on. I spent beautiful evenings eating corn in the cob by a bonfire with his family, drinking tea, and chatting about life. He even help me with recommendations on about accomodation in my next stops. If you’re not sure where to stay in Lushoto, don’t hesitate any longer. This is the place.

Really nice place in a great location. The whole family that runs the place is incredibly kind and welcoming. When my guide for a multi day hike I was going on wasn’t responding the family called friends and found him for me and were very gracious while I waited.

Lovely, clean & comfortable place for exploring th region. Steve is a great host, ready to help with anything you need. They also use organic coffee from the farm nearby, which is delicious!
