Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. Our stay at Iroriyado Hidaya was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip. The hospitality was exceptional, probably the best we've ever experienced even in comparison to other more expensive ryokans. Staff were extremely kind and helpful; we had our own itinerary planned out, but we've seen how they assisted other foreign guests with recommendations to visit around Takayama. We had a Japanese speaker in our group, but the language barrier should not be much of an issue as they use a translation device with international guests. Location is quite a bit of a walk from the station, though we felt that it was worth it and they were extremely willing to help with taxi reservations for the next and subsequent mornings. Very highly recommended to stay here :)

Units are fitted with a kitchen with a dining area, and a private bathroom with a free toiletries and bath. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also offered as well as a coffee machine. This was a wonderful place to stay for our family of five. The location is very convenient. The beds were large and comfortable. Kitchen facilities were good having a Speer washing machine and dryer was great for a family of 5. The host a lovely and the self check in was easy. If we come back again I would happily stay here.
