Offering garden views, Škerlj Wine Estate is an accommodation located in Tomaj, 17 km from Trieste Train Station and 18 km from Piazza Unità d'Italia. A real gem. We received a wonderful welcome from Mirjana, who greeted us with a glass of her fine Teran and we felt instantly at home. Skerlj is a historic wine estate which goes back six generations to 1788; our room was cosy and full of character with beautiful old furniture. Delicious breakfasts with homemade eggs, local jams and honeys etc. Mirjana gave us some excellent recommendations for dinner both nights. A lovely place to wind down and enjoy the atmosphere with the friendly cats and elderly dog. Thoroughly recommended, we can’t wait to return!

We appreciated: the tastefully attractive furnished appartment; Iva's and Bojan's hearty hospitality; the nice terrasse with the great view, where we could enjoy delicious and diversified breakfast; the fantastic immediate surrounding of the old village & the adequate accessibility of nice spots in Kras for hiking tours and sightseeing.

Boasting garden views, Prenočišča Iris offers accommodation with balcony, around 20 km from The Škocjan Caves. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. Calm place, very nice garden and view. Also parking near house. Near apartaments is very good restaurant.

Featuring mountain views, Hiša posebne Sorte features accommodation with patio, around 29 km from Trieste Train Station. There isn't a thing you could not like here. Seriously. Ok, the weather played a bit tricks on us the first day. But even it redeemed itself with a beautiful rainbow at the end of the day. So, when you have a group of friends or family, all of them having time (which can be the most difficult part these days) and you want to spoil them (and yourself), book a stay. Reserve a table for dinner. And then - enjoy.

Boasting accommodation with a terrace, Apartma Furlan is situated in Štanjel. The property is around 26 km from Piazza Unità d'Italia, 26 km from Trieste Port and 27 km from San Giusto Castle. The apartment was clean and quiet. We slept so well. I used WhatsApp to communicate with the host and they were welcoming and kind. The free parking and ability to view the beautiful city from the terrace and then walk up in 10min was perfect!

Set within 8.5 km of The Škocjan Caves and 15 km of San Giusto Castle, Casa Krasna Gourmet Boutique Hotel offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Lokev. The room was perfect, but the highlight was the wonderful five-course dinner. One of the best meals we had during our three weeks in Slovenia.

Located in Divača and only 4 km from The Škocjan Caves, Homestead Vrbin provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. There was breakfast there in the morning. It was very good. Typical Slovenian breakfast. There was also a restaurant there in the evening so if you didn't want to go out you could eat there.

We had a brilliant family holiday, with a lovely, kind host , in a beautiful village. Our room was comfortable, we did not have any problems with the shared bathroom. The kitchen is spacious, very well equipped. There is enough room to sit down to have breakfast even if there are other guests. Marija and her husband are very helpful and informative.Here I also would like to wish them good health and enough power to run this guesthouse for a long time. The village is simply magnificient. It was great to walk around in the mornings, its narrow streets and the great garden gives it a nice atmosphere. It is really hard to leave this calm and beautiful village behind, however, it is the best possible starting point to visit all the places of interests in a 50-60 kms of circle, all around Italy and Slovenia. We could spend there two weeks at least without being bored. So...definitely we will go back and can recommend the place to anybody.
